Yesterday we took a trip down to DC to see the cherry blossoms at the Jefferson Memorial tidal basin. ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/WnLb7Nb/20230326-153910.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/mtTcDJy/20230326-152949.jpg)

So great. I was there a few years ago and was blown away
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I loved when I was stationed in DC. Driving over to the National Mall/the basin to see the Cherry Blossoms was one of my favorite 1-2 weeks during the year

The crowds were insane. We ended up getting out of the car and walking when we got close enough. On the walk back to Smithsonian metro stop they had one entrance as exit only and the other one was standing outside and not moving. I'm glad we got to see them but I am not sure I would want to go back with the crowds.

I think I preferred the Cherry blossoms in Yokosuka, Japan. Could walk to them from the aircraft carrier when in port. The beltway around DC and traffic in the capitol itself was always a hassle coming up from Pax River, MD.

I can't metro train from here, but maybe one day I'll make it. Japan is on the list of places I'd like to see.

The first or second year I was there, I made the wrong decision to take my normal route home. I was stuck in the mall for over two hours. It became easier after I learned alternate routes.
