Go to godaddy.com and do everything through them.

What Kash said.. I just did that.. put up a family website.. The site will be for my family to put pictures up there and have all kinds of family history documented....

I Called Godaddy.com...

Bought a domain name... paid $35.00 for ownership of that domain name for 5 years.. That's NOT 35.00 per year,, that's 35.00 for all five years. It just doesn't get cheaper than that.

Then I paid 162.00 for hosting... For FIVE years.. Basically, I have no other costs except what nephew will charge me to actually design the site.. You can actually get hosting for free if you are willing to have advertising run on your site.. if you don't mind that, then you can get out of the 162.00...

The best part about it,, I get 501 Email accounts free with that... 501, that's a whole lotta email addresses..

Let's say that my website URL is www.OOOOOX.com. Then everyone I give one to will have an email address such as Damanshot@OOOOOX.com. Cool huh?

I'll assign each family member a free email address for them to use or not to use.. which ever they want to do..

You CANNOT do it any cheaper and still have such good development tools at your disposal... Can't be done..

SITE PIMPING/ADVERTISINGPlease note that it is not appropriate to make posts solely for the purpose of advertising your own site or any other site. These are considered to be posts of solicitation, and are not allowed for any reason unless permission is explicitly given by a moderator to the contrary. This includes both within posts as well as within signatures.

Now I don't think BP is site pimping because he's not just saying out of nowhere that everyone needs to check this site out. He's helping a fellow poster kinda like "where can i watch videos?" and someone says youtbue. But that's just my opinion.

Is that his site? Because with that logic Daman and I were site pimping as well.

My wife used Tripod. We have a free site that has adds on it. The site is for my wrestling team and all the adds are related to youth sports.

Yeah, my business website is done through Yahoo. I paid for my domain name for several years at a pretty cheap price. Then I got lucky and had a friend who was willing to host it on his server so I don't have to pay a dime for that

As he said though, DNS is where it can get confusing. I had to log into the Yahoo account and change around all of the DNS Server numbers so that it associated that server with my website address rather than using the Yahoo servers.

Try 1and1.com Cheapest rates around, good support, and you get a free domain name. I've used them for a long time, and never had problems yet.

jc..

I know alot of people who have switched away from godaddy.

Unless you pay for their premium sites, you get crap service, and sites I know hosted on godaddy are often slow to load.
