Best decision I ever made trading in my broken 360 to gamestop for my 60 GIG a few months back I Never even played a ratchet and clank game until the PS3, and there isnt a game on the 360 even touching it. The Demo for uncharted is absolutely fantastic, and the new PS3 commercials get me jacked every time I see them. Soooooo Glad.

After 2+ years away from console gaming, I'm thinking about coming back.
And like you all already know, there's three choices (in alphabetical order):
PS3 Wii Xbox 360
So the $250-$400 decision comes down to which one.
- All of the consoles have Guitar Hero 3 == The 360 has GH2 and DLC for GH 1 - PS3 and the 360 have Rock Band - The 360 has a more established online service (but $$$) - PS3 comes with BluRay and wireless - The 360 can play HD-DVD's and be wireless (but extra $$$ for each) - Wii is the cheapest but impossible to find - The 360 and PS3 are in HD - The Wii has Mario Galaxy and Zelda (big pro's in my book) - The 360 has Halo 3 (big pro too) - The PS3 has.........well, nothing that interests me as PS3-only - Skate, COD4 & GTA (whenever its released) are playable on the 360 and PS3 only
Dang.........impossible to make the decision.
Any help out there?

I certainly love my PS3 but all 3 systems are great. The 360 still has the better library of games and the Wii still has the better price point. The PS3 came out a year too early and Blu-ray wasn't necessary and that's why it took it's lumps. It's starting sell well now with the price drop and better advertisement.

360 for the serious gaming and the Wii for the fun games. I have the 360 and thinking about the Wii for the novelty of it.
Xbox live is just incredible. No other way to explain it.

I used to have PS1 and PS2, switched to 360 and love it.
Usually I only sports games, but since I got the 360 have branched out, played Halo for the first time and its amazing.

Didn't Sony just revamp their online for better gaming and easier access to DLC? I heard a while back they wanted a better interface for all their games, since there was no real standard.
For example, Rock Band. It'll be easy to see how the 360 owners will download more songs for the game. It's probably tied to their Xbox Live account. How will the PS3 work? Anybody out there using PS3 online and know about DLC for other games?
I was a PS1 and PS2 gamer for a looooong time. My wife got me an Xbox and Halo 1 for my birthday and I never turned my PS2 on again. So for me, it's not that I'm a fanboy for either side, I like all three from previous consoles I've owned.
I guess I'd be leaning towards PS3 right now. And then the Wii next.
The BluRay and wireless feature is really cool for only $50 more. Yeah I'd be missing out on the better online service and Halo 3 but I'm about to be a Dad in the next few weeks (so I won't have much time for online gaming).

well i will say that if you like shooters, then the wii is great for gameplay because you can aim....
don't know how the online play is yet, gotta get moh heros and check that out....zelda is super cool, and the reviews for super mario are great....
i've always liked pc games because i like using a mouse....the wii most closely does that...graphics aren't as good as the other systems but to me its about gameplay...
Attitude is everything....FEAR THE ELF!!!

Here's toy ou man, welcome to the glorious world!
Now I jsut have to save my money up to get all the good games coming up. It's a little hard right now with insurance and car payments, but I'll be getting at least COD 4 and MGS 4.
Has anyone played Modern Warfare here? I've heard it's insane, how good is it?

Punchsmack... PS3 comes with wireless capability free of charge. I have heard that if you like shooting games more go 360, if you like sports games more PS3, if you like Mario and the kind of games I would call weird go wii.

Granted I have never gotten used to it either. Xmas will bring one of the systems to me....and I'm leaning PS2. Assasin's creed looks unreal!!

Well the 360 controller is smaller than the original XBox one, and I love it now. Its really just a matter of getting used to it. At first it was a little weird, but like i said the 360 is slimmed down from the original. After about a week of gameplay I didnt know the difference and I love it now.
The only thing that sucks about it is the directional pad, its terrible, but its never used anyway. Only time i use it is for Street Fighter which i bought on the Xbox Live arcade.

If you can master the ps2 controls
xbox 360 controls should be just an easy transition
only realy difference is the 360 controller is bigger and bulkier,
ps3 uses same design as ps2 controller
button layouts are pretty much the same.

Once you use the 360 controller you get used to it. I thought it was a monster at first too and now I pretty much know where everything is.

the current 360 controller is awesome
they took the big, bulky, ugly, uncomfortable controller from the original xbox, and slimmed it down to a sleek model... i love everything about it...
playstation has a great controller, 360 has a better controller
the decision to get one or the other (360/ps3/wii) comes down to what kind games you like to play, and whether or not you want to play online
and as far as sports games go, they're all the same, although some people say 360 runs their sports games at a better framerate... i don't really know...

I have a PS2 and two of my best friends have X-Box. We are at their houses a lot playing Halo. At first I had problems with the controls because I was used to the PS2 ones. I just didn't know where what button was. Now I have no problem with the controller at all. Neither of these are 360s either.

This is correct... for Madden 08 anyway. Just do a google search of "madden frame rate" and you'll see it's all over the net. EA couldn't get it fixed in time. I'd be shocked if its an issue next year.

I own a PS3 and love it. Never had a problem with it, where I hear about all kinds of problems with the 360. My friend having the same problem as you- he is unsure of which system to buy. He was going for the 360 due to the lower price, but started to rethink since the PS3 has come down. Then, his bro's 360 just got the red ring of death as well as friends of his at work. So now he's starting to lean towards a PS3. The other thing you have to think about is the future of the systems. The 360 is more established now with a nice gaming library, but what big games are coming out next year? None really. The PS3 should gain ground in 08 because the number of exclusive big-name titles coming out such as SOCOM, Unreal Tourney III, MGS4, Gran Turismo 5, Little Big Planet, Uncharted, HOME, Soul Caliber 4, and Killzone 2 (AMAZING looking game). I think HOME is really going to push this system upwards. There's also a number of great games that will be out for both systems soon. The other thing is the PS3 is constantly putting out updates which is making the system better, and is much easier to update if you want to do things such as upgrade the harddrive. It's wireless ready, built well, and looks sweet sitting on your stand. IMO, the 360 is the current winner, but if your looking into the future, the PS3's future is looking much brighter with the power of the system just being learned. IMO the games will be much more advanced in the near future once they start tapping its power.
