Felton was a four-star recruit out of Great Oak High School before signing with the Bruins. He's played a running back/receiver hybrid role for UCLA, primarily rushing in 12 appearances as a redshirt freshman in 2017 (10-75-7.5, one TD) and then mostly catching the ball in the 2018 (20-207-10.4, one TD receiving; 5-27-5.4 rushing; 5-105-21.0 kick returns; eight starts in 12 games). The Bruins used him in both roles in 2019, giving him 86 carries (331 yards, 3.8 per, one TD) and allowing him to catch 55 passes for 594 (10.8 per) and four scores in 12 games (two starts). He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown (13-338-26.0). Felton was the team's top offensive threat in 2020, earning second-team All-Pac-12 recognition by compiling a team-high 668 rushing yards and five rushing scores (132 carries, 5.1 per) while still factoring as a threat through the air (22-159-7.2, three TDs) and as a returner (8-168-21.0) in six games with five starts. He ranked sixth in the FBS with 165.8 all-purpose yards per game. Felton accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl. -- by Chad Reuter

I like this pick.

Pastor Marc, this guy has more potential than just returning picks. He can be lined up all over the offense. Mainly the Slot and in the backfield. Love this kid's feet. This is not a throw-away pick.

I think he's a better Wr, than Schwartz,

If Schwartz' could learn how to catch, or cut, or make moves, or fluid change of diretction, or take on bumps, or get off the line of scrimmage, or not get pushed out of bounds,
I dunno, Football player > greater than Track star.

And I'm basing all of this on just a wild guess.

That's what I want to know.

And for the Record I like this pick as the type and style of a WR to go after,

Someone tell the Browns they can also be found in players who played WR in college instead of RB.

----------

( banghead I can't believe the Mich RB, went to the Bengals in the 6th, will probably have a 10 year career, banghead)

Demetrick Felton, is a, does he look like,

Does he have a Rashard Higgins type of attitude, heart, and motivation???

I think he should be a Fan Favorite
Demetrick Felton, Wonderful pick,

Wouldn't it be nice if the Browns had a real other WR, to pair him with out of this draft along the lines of
Elijah Moore, or Terrace Marshall Jr.

But, They went D****** (reddforeman) Need at corner,

Then didn't properly address the Cornerback with 2 more picks this year, so that,

2022, GURANTEE, #1 NEED ON BROWNS, (tad dah, same squat every year)
CORNER (*****) BACK! banghead

Demetric Felton:
LOVE THE PICK !

Decent pick. Not sure he makes the team, but we should get him through to the practice squad.

True but how much better would this team be if we could find another Josh Cribbs ...

Maybe not as much as you think...the way the rules are today, Cribbs wouldn't get many opportunities. In some ways, crappy returners probably get more chances over good returners because the kicker might sky kick the ball to encourage a return from the 2 in the hope of pinning the returning team deeper v kicking it out of the endzone.

Now, if you are including punt returns, I agree.

I think it’s safe to say we weren’t counting on Natson to return to the squad

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I'm really going to be pulling for this pick, he shows everything you are looking for in a WR, and a football player.

Instantly better than Hodge, competition at least, I think, and there were a couple of players at Wr on the 2020 Browns that really needed competition for their roster spots,
this Guy Felton, if he can get open, make catches, score touchdowns,

Will really prove a boone for the Browns offense, probably a favorite target for Mayfield, and a fan favorite, I mean just look at his game.

Positive plays, for positive players, what's not to love about this pick, a football player, and a nice pick up,

Maybe motivate DPJ, maybe competition for Donovan Peoples-Jones, makes everyone all around improved.

Good Luck to this guy. I think he's better than Schwartz right now.
Wake me if Schwartz ever has 37 catches in this league.

His body movements remind me a lot of Jarvis Landry.

I like the pick. To make the team, he's gonna have to be veratile, and he's definitely that.

Speed coming out of breaks, Refined Route Running,
Being a player from College that was the #1 threat on his offense that defenses had to account for,
A guy who breaks away if you get him the ball in space.
A nose for making positive plays with the football.

The history of he has done if from the Rb or Wr positions, He can run up the middle 10 times a game, and line up for a 20 yard pass route, 10 times in the same game.
These are strengths, these are things other players don't all provide, some do, but not all.

I think he's a delight, I think he will be fun to watch, will have some electrifying times when he touches the ball.
Defenses are going to be like,
Well !!! Who was supposed to be covering Felton, Wth happened.
Fans are going to Love this guy.
STOKED!

I mentioned this in another thread, but I think there is a outside chance that Felton ends up replacing Landry in the slot if we decide to part ways with Landry.

I know for now we have said he is a running back, but he played out of the slot a lot and was a receiver at one point in college, so I don't think it is totally out of the question.

He's a 6th round pick - he has to make the 53 first, then the game day rosters.

There is zero chance that he is replacing above the bottom of the roster in 2021. The only ones closer to the exit than him will be any UDFA WR's we bring in.

I just listened to an interview from 54 days ago on podcasts, found, Patriots, Bucs, Packers, talking about him, but doesn't matter,
but, The interview, the guy sounds really fun, like he's going to be fun to have around.
I like all 3 Rb's of the Browns from 2020, and both full backs, maybe this guy is Hilliard's replacement, (5 games active) from last year.

Felton won't be able to stash on the Practice squad, One day and He would be snatched up gone, to antother teams roster.

4 touchdowns of 75+ yards for UCLA ties school record, I'm telling ya, folks are going to love this pick.

Where does his 2020 roster spot come from? Taywan Taylor WR, has already left in FA not signed, and JoJo Natson is going to need to show up to out play this guy in competition for one roster spot.

( Nobody is replacing Jarvis Landry, That's ridiculous!)

Fans are going to love this player Felton.
If he does-- If he works hard enough. ( Pass Protection, )

Again, I was talking about after this season. Landrys contract runs through 2022 and he will be due $14 mil. Maybe we don't want to pay him $14 mil and allocate that money between Baker and Nick.

Fleton replacing Landry this year is ridiculous. Down the road, maybe not so much.

Just so we are clear, Andrew Berry specifically said Felton is a running back. Could change in the future, of course.

Elijah Moore from Ole Miss, who went to the Jets in the 2nd seemed to be in a same sort of mold but it's not too easy to find.
