Country star, songwriter Mac Davis dies at 78



NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Country star Mac Davis, who launched his career crafting the Elvis Presley hits "A Little Less Conversation" and "In the Ghetto" and whose own hits include "Baby Don't Get Hooked On Me," has died. He was 78.

Mac was a country/pop crossover. Talented guy. Appealed to a wide audience. Pop, Country, young, old.

Several years ago, I also saw him play a very funny version of himself in a karaoke movie called "Jackpot". He did a really good job.
