Having a discussion last night with a few people about things that most people really enjoy ... but that we actually dislike. It became kind of a fun and enlightening conversation haha.
Here were a few things I mentioned:
- Vacations. I’m not saying I hate taking small vacations ... but anything more than a few days drives me crazy. I hate the process of packing, traveling, taking a long time, being out of my routine, thinking about stuff I need to get done when I get back, not knowing where I’m going, etc.
- Steak. This has more to do with my genetics I think ... but steak has never sat well with me. I don’t digest it well or something. Most guys die for it ... and I pretty much avoid it.
- Concerts. I enjoy good music and can listen to a wide variety ... but I don’t enjoy going to concerts. Too loud, too many people, too crowded, too much traffic, etc. I’d just as well listen to a good track in the car or working out.
- Getting haircuts. I’m always surprised to hear that people love getting their hair cut ... I can’t stand it! I hate how I feel afterwards and it always takes me a good week or two to feel normal again.
- And just to throw a Browns related comment ... Doug Dieken. Here’s the thing ... I love the fact that he’s a franchise legend and so loyal ... but I dislike him as a color guy (and I think he’s getting worse). He interrupts, groans, and truthfully doesn’t add much to the broadcast. I always feel like Jimmy D is carrying the booth. If Doug weren’t a staple in Cleveland he’d never get a job IMO (and I hate even listing this one haha).
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Ok I'll go,
Steaks: I agree, my stomach always hurts after I eat one. Coffee: The smell just kills me Pickles: The taste, the texture, and the GD juice gets everywhere Those fake home improvement shows: Just the whole thing is so scripted, but they act like it's not. I guess I would be ok with it if they didn't act so fake. Def Leoppard: That guys voice is so annoying, everytime they are on the radio, I'll change it our worse, just turn it off.

Fantasy related movies. Feel like I'm the only one on the planet that hasn't seen any of the Lord of the Rings.
Comic book movies. I saw the original Batman with Michael Keaton. Don't think I've seen any comic book movie since.
About two years ago coffee was on the list for me. Now I drink one/day.
But I will add Starbucks. I do not understand the appeal of that place. It costs over $4 for a large iced tea. And I refuse to say the Italian name for the sizes.
Aaron Rodgers. About 4 years ago I said I just didn't see what all the hoopla was about. 4 years later people are just now starting to say the same thing.
Dawgtalkers. This place is a cesspool. It's like an accident I can't turn my eyes from.

Cats - go away.
Cat people - love to tell you how much they love cats and how unique they are.
Amish Country - enough of the novelty act.
People that write checks at stores.
CBS sitcoms and NCIS - Horrible.
"Don't even talk to me until I've had my coffee" type people. - Ok buddy, grow up and go away.
I second Rish on the Italian names at Starbucks and I'll add the Starbucks lingo in general, "I'll have a venti, half-caf, skinny vanilla latte." - Stop it.
In-N-Out Burger. Extremely over-hyped and overrated. And enough of the "did you get it animal style, bro?"

Game of thrones.
I just couldn’t get into it. Then people started repping their favorite characters like gang wars and it got even more annoying.

I just couldn’t get into it. Then people started repping their favorite characters like gang wars and it got even more annoying. This. I made it through about 3 episodes before checking out. Every time I see my brother in law he tells me I need to give it another chance. I always say maybe just to move on from the conversation. Again, this kind of falls under the fantasy category for me. Just can't get into it. Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, etc. I was raised on Star Wars episodes 4 - 6 growing up, and I liked them, but I just watched episode 1 for the first time on Sunday. My plan was to watch them all in order. I could barely get through episode 1. Now I don't think I'm going to go any further.

1-3. Cars nowadays
Too complicated, not fun to drive. Sacrificing soul and purpose to try to attract the 'average consumer' (that doesn't exist, imo).
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Yes, everything, but it is important how you order. I don't want Milk to make fun of me, but you do have to order your burger animal style. Double double, animal style, with chopped chilis. Fries are good, probably not the best, but you can also get them animal style (sauce, grilled onions, cheese).

Waiting in line for average food? In and Out is straight trash compared to 5-Guys (or most other burger joints, for that matter). Waited forever for the opportunity, finally hit one up in Hollywood. Got my food, took a bite, looked around for the Candid Camera crew. Was so excited to try the "legendary" Animal Style Fries... Fries covered in thousand island with American cheese? Really??

I never had In and Out, but I do love Five Guys - best I've had. When I'm too lazy to cook and a bit too lubricated to drive, I order from a place called Brown Bag Burgers on Doordash. Not quite as good as Five Guys, but still really good, plus its free delivery while Five Guys is $5.99 delivery on top of your total (including 20-25% tip).

I'm having a hard time making a list because I am not sure that "most people love" these things, but I do think they are popular.
--Elvis. Never could stand the dude. Thought he was fake. I didn't think he had a good voice, either.
--Oysters. Oyster Roasts are very popular here in SC. I can't stand the things. Eating one is like swallowing a big gob of snot.
--Bing Crosby. Another singer/actor who I thought was fake as hell.
--Pickles. I especially hate them on a sandwich. I always ask for them to leave them off. Sometimes they forget. Even the juice that seeps into the bread is repulsive.
--Baker. LOL.......I really don't hate him, but I am chuckling because it will pizz people off.

In and Out is an institution! <eyeroll emoji> !! This adds fuel to the overrating of In-N-Out burgers. People like to tell you their wacky orders! A double double, what's that? Just a double cheeseburger. Animal Style? What, you added some onions? Just stop it. This is Starbucks ordering with burgers! It's a place that I think people feel they have to say they like because it's "just the thing to do." I'd wager people like placing their "secret" order more than they do the actual food. In-N-Out could not hold a candle to Swenson's. Begin the burger wars!
