Grazing with the goat Traveling to the Bay Area for last Sunday’s game in Oakland allowed Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards to meet all-time NFL receiver Jerry Rice for the first time. Time was arranged for Edwards to drive to Rice’s house, and spend time with The GOAT – The Greatest Of All Time. Edwards tried to milk as much knowledge as he could from Rice. He listened as Rice talked to him about working hard, running routes, and doing the little things that make a good receiver great. The meeting was more memorable for Edwards than Sunday’s loss in Oakland. But the Browns are hoping that Rice’s words translate into even finer play for Edwards, who finally is playing up to his potential, catching 15 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns this season. Heard this, this morning on TV thought this was interesting. Wonder why none of the beat writers hasn't mentioned it. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d802ba0fb&template=with-video&confirm=true

It would be great if he has decided to live up to his potential.

You have to admit, he looks A LOT better out there and showing some heart. He got hurt on a crucial play in the Bungles game (I think) and got up.
You can down him if you want but I think that this isn't the time as he has looked really good this season.

Because it has nothing to do with Brady starting earlier or Romeo getting fired quicker.

It sure looks like he's stepping up to the plate this season.

So let me get this straight....Edwards was looking for GOAT Milk? I hope Rice wasn't cutting any goat cheese, eh GM?

Because it's a positive, feel good story about a Browns Player and that won't sell newspapers... I really hate the media,,, I really really do.

Goat's milk & rice?? What the heck are you guys cooking in here? As good as he is doing, he's only on track for 60 catches and 1100 yds. That's damn good by BROWNS' standards, but it's average by NFL standards for a true #1 receiver. It'd be just barely Top12 in Yards, but not even Top40 in Receptions for 2006.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I have been telling people to be patient with him. WRs usually come into their own in their third year.

Like you said, those numbers are good by Browns standards lately. However, I am not sure where your assumed numbers are coming from. Here is what I found on nfl.com and what I would project the numbers to be: http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=0&statisticCategory=RECEIVING&conference=0011 Through 3 games: 15 recepts - 278 yards - 92.7 yards per game - 3 TDs
Assuming he plays all 16 games - that would project to: 80 recepts - 1,483 yards - 16 TDs.
I know that you cannot use last years stats as too much of a comparison but in doing so that would place him in the top 20 in recepts, 1st in yards and 1st in TDs in the NFL based on 2006.
Do I think BE will hit those numbers - no I do not. Same as some of the other players that are playing out of their mind - Chad Johnson is averaging 147 yards a game or 2,352 yards for the season. Is he going to get that - probably not.
Signing Steinbach - $49.5 million Signing Lewis - $5 million Drafting Joe Thomas and Brady Quinn - millions more Restoring the Browns to champions - priceless.

bad math
I thought to myself "3 games so far, yeah that's 1/4 of the season"
yes, extrapolated out properly, things look MUCH nicer, hehe

Don't worry about it prp, we all make mistakes, why just last Sunday DA did a similar thing which is why he thought the game started at 6:30.... must have been the time zone change....
