Wife and I saw it on Christmas Eve. I thought it was pretty good. I won't say too much, even though there aren't a ton of crazy spoilers in it.

I will say that I felt like they wrapped things up nicely. I know they will spin off other characters, and have more movies and TV shows, but I was glad not to see any stupid cliffhangers for future stuff.

These last 3 episodes are not quite as good as episode 4-6, but they are much better than episodes 1-3.

I think we are going to start Mandalorian soon.

Also, for those that haven't see it. If you can find a way to see it in true Imax, there is a 6 minute prologue scene for Christopher Nolan's new movie Tenet. I am beyond excited for that one, there is a trailer out now, but the prologue puts that thing into hyper speed.

From what I heard, it seems “safe” and a fan pleaser.

I don’t think it’ll unseat The Last Jedi for me. Rian Johnson made a great film.

Totally get that.

For me, of all the star wars releases these last few years, nothing holds a candle to Rogue One. It was just a phenomenal movie that I would really point someone in the direction of if they have never seen any star wars movies and wanted to put their foot in the water.

The thing that kinda bugged me with these last 3 episodes, was that I just couldn't buy Kylo Ren as a legit big time bad guy. He just didn't really do it for me. I don't think there was anything wrong with his acting, but it was like hey here's this young guy, he's supposed to be the enemy. No real build up or anything.

All the other characters if you ask me, were pretty good. I thought they did a nice job of including the original characters, but not making them the main attraction. I think that's where they could have gotten in trouble.

I think Kylo Ren was young to please the young people demographic.

I thought it was above and beyond the best of the recent trilogy. A little jumpy from scene to scene but I really enjoyed the story and not a whole of of head-scratchers in terms of "how come they did that?".

Wished they would have fleshed out the backstory of a certain group of villains but there was only so much one could do to make up for the last film.

I think JJ handled the Carrie Fisher issue as best he could as well.

I think what’s funnier is that you endorse the silly alt-right criticisms of TLJ by men children who felt sad they couldn’t live out their male power fantasy.

Or I just think the movie was terrible.

If that's your opinion of TLJ, you're....ummm...how can I put this? NOT going to like TROS.

It was a giant retcon middle finger to TLJ. And it was glorious.

Yeah, it pretty much was.

One of the things I liked most about the movie was how JJ Abrams had a phenomenal character arch for Rey. Things were more streamlined and consistent. It offered the internal strife that a main character endures (usually) and I thought it aided Daisy Ridley in her acting as well. I think both her and Kylo Ren (forget the actor's name) did a really good job as well. Also, a bunch of secondary and tertiary characters seemed more relevant and had meaningful roles.

I thought the actor who dominated his role in TLJ was Poe Dameron's character. Rey and Ren both stole the show, IMO, this time around.

Can't be what you described.

Don't you know there's always a political/societal/class/race/income level/........etc aspect of everything?

Do it. It's an awesome show.

Plus, there is a certain Jedi element that connects the Mandelorian to Episode 9.

The music is amazing.

I would imagine her passing threw a huge wrench into the entire plans to finish that movie. I think they put a nice touch on it. I wonder what the plan would have been if she had not passed away?

And yeah we started Mandalorian earlier tonight. We got through a bunch of episodes. I really like it. I love John Favreau, so I am glad to see he was doing star wars stuff

It's crazy that I was not a big star wars fan growing up. Parents and friends weren't really into it. Once I got into my 20's, I started coming around. I just saw episode 9, burned through half the mandalorian, and have a still sealed copy of Fallen Order for ps4. It's a pretty amazing franchise, and I can see why people are so passionate about it

Just saw it,. I really really enjoyed it. The scale between ship sizes and such was really well done in 3D. It made the Star Destroyers feel massive on the screen as compared to the tie fighters and such.
The characters and storyline were developed well. There were a few surprises. It paid tribute to the franchise without falling into tropes.
I feel it did an overall good job wrapping up the story.
