I usually listen to 92.3 on a reg basis. I do turn it on though once in a while.

One thing though, if I hear that "Dalila"(sp) song one more time I am going to snap
"ohhh what you do to me,,"

I have sirius though and usualy listen to that or AM

When I was in Cleveland I listened to wmms more than 92.3, never cared for that station too much. I still miss 107.9 The end from back in the day, that was a good station.

The Air Force Academy puts out a decent rock station out here in Colorado.

Oh lord, the guys at work kill me with that in the morning.

There's nothing worse than going in after a 34-7 loss to the Stoolies on Monday and have to listen to old men laugh at their own jokes.

I dont just listen to radio for Music. I like to listen to be entertained or get info. I like listening to AM radio at strange hours and hear some really weird but cool shows.

You got a problem with southern rock,pal? I'll take yesterday's music over today's anytime.JMHO.

I used to listen to WMMS back in the early to late 70's when they played decent rock and roll. Then they started to play the likes of Prince and Cyndi Lauper and all of those other meaningless 80's bands, then the infamous illegal ballot stuffing crap turned me off of the station for good. These days I only listen to WMMS for the Browns games while I'm watching the games on TV. Other than that,it's a worthless radio station. Again,JMHO.

Actually browniepoints, in terms of sound quality, MP3 is one of the worst file formats for music there is.

When apple develops a better ipod that will allow for lossless digital formats like .shn & flac files then the ipod will claim its rightful place. While much larger in size the sound quality vastly superior and maintains the artistry of the recording studio, mixing and production.

As far as WMMS goes
Sirius and XM are slowly making FM radio obsolete, however, AM talk radio is as popular as it has ever been.

anybody remember the original Z-rock......or WGCL 98

man i am getting old

I listen to Sports Talk on the AM channels while I'm on the computer..

But these talks about Jeff Garcia being the savior in TB is getting ridiculous.

Bucs fans will find out the hard way that's not the case.

Savior? Ya,right.

I think Garcia will do good down there if Gruden lets him have his way out there. He really did do a good job in Philly. Shoot, like us Browns fans have anything to say to another team about a Qb being the savior of the team

I would also like the best quality songs to be ripped to my HD (for future use with a home jukebox). However, how do you go about doing this with a CD? I currently rip to my external using WMP with the setting at the best quality (144 MB per CD (320 Kpbs). It seems to come out with fairly good sound quality. Is there a huge difference between this and the formats you talk about?

There's even talks of Luke McCown taking over eventually.

chi-town.

What are the resulting files types of your rip?? I dont have time for a giant explanation but hit these wiki's and you will get a better feel for what I am saying. Typically a CD full or flac or shn are close tot he whole 700 MB on a standard CDR. There are better Writable CDs and there are higher quality files to put on them

MP3 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3

SHN http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shorten

FLAC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Lossless_Audio_Codec

I rip to Mp3 format (for iPod usage).

Within WMP, you can select Mp3, Windows Media Audio, Windows Media Audio Pro, Windows Media Audio (Variable Bit Rate), Windows Media Audio Lossless and WAV (lossless).

On my computer, I also have the full version of MusicMatch Jukebox, Nero (full), iTunes, Quicktiime, etc as potential CD ripping programs.

I'll research more and check your wiki links (thanks a ton!) after football Sunday.

It would be nice ot have the highest of quality music saved to my HD, as well as be able to play them on an iPod. Not sure if the best of both worlds is attainable. Would certainly be nice.
