I didn't see this anywhere, so if it needs move to a different thread, please do.

But if this is true, OMG.

If true, dude should be forced to sell the team somehow. This is CRAZY.

To be fair, he's not saying the team hid cancer from him, he's saying they never bothered to test for it. Pretty big difference there.

In light of this, I'm very surprised they didn't make more of an effort to trade him. Keeping him would seem to exasperate the situation.

Correct, I fixed what I typed on the link. They hid how serious it was.

Maybe they didn't want to trade him because of this? He stated hes still going through things from surgery, would he have passed a physical? Maybe they knew he wouldn't, that's why they waited so long to try to trade him....seems fishy to me.

The whole thing has seemed very strange from the get-go. I'm pretty sure there were some other players, or former players, that had some complaints about the medical department as well.

This article is saying they told him it was a "growth" but not serious at first, and only told him to see a specialist this past year. When he say the specialist, is when he found out it was cancerous.

Either way, I don't put this past the Redskins.

They rushed RGIII back too early and he destroyed his knee.

Interim coach Bill Callahan said that Williams didn’t pass his physical after he reported, and Williams has indicated that he suffers discomfort when wearing a helmet due to the location of the surgeries he underwent to remove the growth.

There are plenty of us on here that have experienced Cancer in one form or another. No matter how low the stage is, it's still cancer. I kinda feel bad for anyone that gets to any degree.

I hope the guy comes out of it ok in the end.

Really? That is sickening in itself (no pun intended). This is crazy. Were they protecting a solid price for him? Wow!

I don't think that was it. This has been going on for 6 years when it was first found by the team and they told him it was minor.
He only found out it was serious this year, which has caused him to refuse to report (allegedly).

I pray he was a stage 0 or stage 1

Many, many folks have delt with cancer, but so many wished they only had stage 0 or stage 1.

When I was diagnosed with stage 4 I was told stage 0 or 1 was a 85 to 95 percent survival rate for 5 years. Stage 2 was 70 to 85 percent. Stage 3 was about 40 percent. Stage IV was about 15 to 18 percent according to the Doc in the Hospital who told me. The second Doc told me about 15 percent, and my oncologist told me my chances were about 10 percent to live 5 years. If I were Trent I would be PO'ed at the team doctors as well.

And, that was in the same game! But, to be fair, that was the HC who made that terrible call in his desire to win that playoff game.

If I had a tumor or growth or whatever I'm getting a second opinion...period! Can he drive himself to a doctor or should the team call him an Uber. Bad situation for sure but be thorough and seek another opinion.

I appreciate what you said. Not sure it suggests any reason for their way of handling it. But he has a right to be upset today. Personally, is there a real need to go public like this? Not sure I see any sense to the situation on either side.

Hope he gets well with all this.

They’re actually going to pay Williams ZERO for 2019 now. Wow.

So who showed who here? That zero was a shocker.

So do they trade him for peanuts this coming offseason?

With the head/helmet discomfort related failing of the physical, does his contract pause for a year?

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.
