OP rockyhilldawg Hall of Famer R Joined: Jul 2014 Posts: 7,612	They’re having massive protests in Hong Kong. Hong Kong was a democracy for almost the entire 20th century. But it was basically only “on loan” from China. It reverted to Chinese control in 1997. China has been slowly converting Hong Kong politically. The Hongkongers are starting to feel the pinch as their sovereignty slips away. I wonder if this will become a world issue. (World Wars have been started over less)

It's a bad scene and I think Trump should have shown some verbal support for their fight for democracy but I think they can handles this on their own. There is no shortage of people standing up over there.
