Hello,
So I just put myself, my dad, and my brother on the wait list for season tickets. They said more than likely will be for 2020 season, as the waitlist is pretty long.
Any advice from current holders? How does it work, do they just offer the best available tickets that and you either take them or leave em and lose your place in line on the wait list, or will you be offered the next set available?
I probably should have asked this with the guy on the phone, but was too excited to think. My dad and brother don't know yet I reserved our place - i want to surprise them.

I don't think anybody can speak (with any clarity) of how it will work going forward... even the ticket reps don't really know. The Browns aren't used to having a waiting list for tickets.
I told my rep last fall that I wanted to add tickets to my account, he said wait til after the season and upgrade during my allotted time (which actually started yesterday). Then Baker happened, Chubb blew up, Hunt was signed and OBJ came to town. He called a couple weeks ago to break the news to me that there wouldn't be much of a chance to add tickets or upgrade because of demand.
I logged in yesterday and the disclaimer was "you can only upgrade on a seat for seat basis and no new seats can be added to your account".
They're a struggling to find a road forward in handling this much excitement!

If I didn't live in Columbus I would have had season tix a decade ago. 4 hour round trip every other Sunday, when my TV is just as good led me to Buckeye season tix.

Im in Weirton, its a 4 hour roundtrip for me too, but its something we have talked about for years - but just couldn't get the old man on board (he likes to watch on tv), but I went for it anyway to get him there. We will probably go to 5-6 games at most.

Basically you get an email saying "Your seat relocation process begins Wednesday, April 10th at 1pm". Long time holders get a crack at trading sooner so they see all the tickets available. I'm left with scraps because this is only my second season. I've been watching for over a day and there is nothing there anywhere near the quality of my seats, but I do have nice club seats. Bottom line, Browns tix are in demand now, even if they continue this "upgrade" process, the actual upgrade in seat quality may be minimal. I'm seeing very few seats and most are in the upper ten rows of the upper decks... a few lower seats today are in the corners.

You get the seats they give you. You get your seats after current tickets holders have a chance to improve their location. If you pass, no idea if you are bumped or not...your not going to get the greatest seats to start so you probably need to take them.. If you want to buy private, google browns psls for sale. You can have those seats transferred to you, but you will have to pay the psl cost which can be anything the seller wants as well as the cost of the tickets. Glad to see there is a waiting list again. That boosts my 2 PSL's.

I have sat in some of the worst seats before - and you still get a good shot of all the action. Ill be happy to get any at this point - but its nice knowing I can have a SHOT to upgrade. The ticket guy I talked too said more than likely ill be in the 500 section, as those are what open up first. But said looking like 2020 at the earliest.

i've been a season ticket holder since the 2007 season (SEC 141, Row 32). back in early march (before the free agency period started), i attempted to puchase a couple of extra season tickets, but to no advail. but in past years, i have always went to this site to purchase a couple of extra seats from current season ticket holders whom place their seats out here to be sold. https://www.ticketmaster.com/nfl then look up Browns

The only way to lose it is to not purchase the season tickets in any given year. Even though they no longer issue them, PSLs will always remain. At this point you would have to have big bucks to purchase one, but it's really your only shot at great seats without waiting forever.

My buddy got on the waitlist as well. When he put down his deposit he had the ticket rep note he preferred club seats, but at the end of the day, in a waitlist situation you get what they offer.
Once you have your seats you can put in for the seat relocation option and you can move if something opens up. However, seat relocation is based on seniority.
I’d say, if given the option to buy anything, get the tickets and opt in to the seat relocation program each year.

Milk is right - as long as you keep renewing, you own the seats (and the right to upgrade if seats you prefer are available). The only advantage of a PSL is being able to transfer or sell those rights to others. As a side note, the Browns reserve the right to move you to "comparable" seats if they wish, they cannot touch them if you own the PSL... not sure how often that happens. As a simple "season ticket holder", I cannot give or sell the exclusive long-term rights to my seats as 'Peen can. If I don't want the seats I have two options - don't renew and lose them forever ~or~ renew and sell them on Ebay (or by some similar means) on a season by season basis.

Thank you. Sounds like you are only better off with the PSL if you bought them years ago - cause if they still had them it would cost an arm and a leg now.

No. Once you become a season ticket holder, those are your seats as long as you renew. The difference is you don't have a PSL. Those of us who do can sell our seats privately to a buyer of our choice at the price of our choice. At this point, all of the "good" seats are PSL owned seats. A few open up because people just gave them up, but those go to people who want to upgrade with the most seniority. I am not saying your seats are going to be bad. There are no bad seats if you want in the stadium to watch the games. You will start in the upper corners...not a Bob Uker, best seat in the house seat, then over a few years you will get to move down and maybe over a section or two. But, if the team is hot, people don't give up seats all that often, so there may not be much movement. Being a 3some could be a good thing for placement. I am sure there are single seats all over the stadium. If one is next to a 2some that opens, you might get better placement. Good luck.

OH....just to add to a earlier thought.
Demand for season tickets is high right now. If you get a chance to get your seats, don't turn them down because someone will take them.
The team isn't going to sell all of the seats in the stadium as season tickets. Teams always keep maybe 30-40% of the seats open for single game sales. My percentages may be off some, but it is bad business to not have single game options for people who might not be able to afford season tickets or out of town fans who want to go to a game.

I can only tell you my experience. Last year was my first year of having season tickets. They told me to pick something that was available and then they'd include me in the relocation process.
I picked something 500 level around the 40 yard line I think. When relocation came up last year, there were plenty of options and I picked section 340. This year I was in the relocation process as well, but there were very very few seats available, and the vast majority of those were corners in the 500 level. There were some in the 300 level between the 20s, but the price was $1550/seat. There were a few single seats in the 100 level.
Based on this, and the assumption we don't get worse, I suspect you'll have to pick from the few seats that are left.

Thanks for all the advice. This is exactly what I was working looking for!
Trust me, I am going to take whatever is offered. I might see if they have anything better and try to push up front, but if they don't im taking what i can get my hands on at this point.

If I didn't live in Columbus I would have had season tix a decade ago. 4 hour round trip every other Sunday, when my TV is just as good led me to Buckeye season tix. My dad has asked me for years why I have Browns instead of Buckeye tix. I blame him, love the Bucks but like the Browns a bit more. If you ever do get tix, there are plenty of us that go up from Columbus - CapitalGG, Lurker, SaintDawg - and tailgate every game. You could always join up with us!

I made the mistake of deciding not to get season tickets a couple of years back. My last season with them was the 1-15 season. Not getting the tickets the next year was mainly because I couldn't get anyone to go, even if I paid them in beer. Their sunday's were better off without the Browns. I started in the 500 level then went to the club when they ran the special of being able to move PSLs without a price increase. I had 4, but sold 2 PSLs about 2014 or 2015. Kept 2. They were too pricey in the club, however, although I like the amenities there... but the club was meant for the casual fan. They didn't like people standing. So my final season I opted for the lower bowl. I think I was in section 104 or 105 and row 18. They were cheaper than the club. I went and tailgated some with friends or went to the bar, but it was difficult to get friends to go watch. So no tickets the past 2 years. But the guy I sold 2 of the PSLs to me offered to sell them back and I think we were able to score lower bowl seats so I'm excited for this season. I had heard there was a waiting list for tickets and I was hopeful this guy came through and I finally got that call that we were good! Relief! I feel better because I didn't want to give them up in the first place... but I'm ready to rock. edit: sorry I didn't answer any questions. I was just telling my story.

Weirton?
I see that sign leaving the Pittsburgh Airport. I'm always leary because that road just popped up out of no where a few years back. I'm always tempted to take it just to take it...

I have had 2 season tix since 99. Almost every year after the season I waited until the "Relocation Day" and kept moving down and more towards center.
After the 0-fer season I pulled the trigger when lots of people gave up and acquired 2 more and got the 4 all together 6 rows up from the 1st row on top deck.
My 4 seats are on the 50 yard line, literally next to the exit to the bathrooms and the beer line.
My neighbors rock. We are never giving these seats up. I have my PSL's and they are in my will for my son. My Season Tix rep and I have already discussed that.
Sec 508, Row 6 Seats 12, 13, 14, 15
Buy any seats they offer you and be patient and relocate every chance you get until you are where you want to be. I feel icky helping a tRumper.
Need a shower.

hahah, yes that's 576, they just built that highway a few years ago, its a shortcut to the old way (toll road). Cuts about 8 min off my travel time to the airport There are some killer restuarants in Weirton, you should take a trip. DeeJays has world famous ribs (although personally they not up my alley), La Cucina might be one of the best Italian places I have ever been for the money, Crazy Mexican Restaurant (yes that's the name) has killer Margs and amazing fajitas. And they have a killer Greek Restaurant called Theo Yiannis that's always packed.

My wife LOVES greek food... might have to keep that in mind. That's in the panhandle, no?
(I hail from the youngstown area)
I just reread my post... I should have posted I had season tix since 1999. Section 513 for like 10-12 years, then club section 302, then lower bowl that final year 104 or 105. I wanted to keep those tickets pretty bad, and I'm sad I lost those PSLs, but I hope my new deal will work out.

We call it the ohio valley. Weirton is the only city in America to border two states. I am 5 min from the PA border, and 5 min from the OH border of Steubenville. Think of a middle finger and that's the shape of WV. We are the finger nail.

This is my 3rd season with season tickets. I figured I'd buy in when the team was bad and get my foot in the door. I got lucky this year and was able to upgrade into club seats. I was in section 532 about the 35 yd line, and my new seats are 338, on the rear line of the end zone, so my angle is worse. But I'm a big guy, and the wider seats of the club section will be very welcome. And it's in the Lake Club, so I can watch the game from inside the club.

Nice! DeisleDawg and I are in 335. Ballpeen has the same or close to the same seats as you on the opposite end zone.

We had a phone stolen in the Lake Club the Browns final home game last year.
It was actually the first time I sat in the Lake Club. I actually prefer the City Club to the Lake Club.

My seats are in the City Club. Section 308. Preferred it to Lake Club myself. Like the views of the city from the Club. Easy in and out from the southwest gate. Just a personal preference. Plus, it’s fun looking back behind me and seeing Jim Donovan and Doug Dieken calling the game. As well as the tv broadcasters.

The bandwagon is getting pretty full these days.
