Here are 3 of my son's highlight plays from this past week. In the first play , at cornerback he blows up the Vikings wide-receiver for a 7 yard loss. Good read step. Good foot drive through out the tackle.
In the second play, from the wing, he takes the hand off and scampers 14 yards untouched for a touchdown.
In the third play, (my favorite) he goes out in the flats on a pass route. Defenders go with him. The QB tucks the ball - he sees the QB tuck the ball - he sees 2 defenders heading to the edge to tackle the QB - he executes a "decleater" allowing the quarterback free access to score.
Brought my Midget Football memories back before I gave it all up in hopes of baseball. Might I say, I am not regretting my decision.
One memory I do have is when I it was my 1st season in tackle..and it was the last game, I picked off a pass beautifully and ran it back for a TD...I was 9 then, and I still remember like it was yesterday.
My 10yo son's first game is next weekend. He plays LT ('lil Thomas ) on offense and noseguard on D. He's upset because you can't be a back or receiver if you're over 90 lbs. He's 116 without much fat and throws the ball farther and more accurately than our qb's do. I told him I'd give him a dollar a pancake to keep him excited.

What great plays!!! I bet you are as proud as a peacock!!! Your son has a head for the game and is not afraid to hit someone. Here's one of my son (#85). It's his first year of playing any football(7th grade). He is the starting right CB and he told me his legs were sore after the first half(not in football shape yet), but make a great tackle from across the field (2nd play). You can hear me yell after the hit. The parents are still talking about this one.

My son had his first game tonight. 3 or 4 pancake blocks (depending on who's counting....I told him I'd give him a dollar per and he's claiming 4 ). I'll get some pics or video at his next game.

Great!!! Looks like we got some future Browns players on the horizon (wouldn't THAT be sumthin'???)...If I get some more good footage, I'll be sure to put it up. My son just got promoted to 1st. String TE as well as CB. Missed his big catch on film last week...
