I think someone hacked Shefter's account. Either that or he's drunk tweeting. He tweeted the false Jalen Ramsey rumor too.

Both stories had links to ESPN.com with full stories. Schefter had a 100% success rate before today.

Then she should get the same opportunity and consideration as anyone else would.

Who would you say is the most qualified female coaching candidate?

It was a hypothetical. Disqualifying a person just because of gender is dumb.

I love Condi! I hope we hire her for a front office position.

I won't be surprised if Katie Sowers gets an interview to become a HC in the future.

She's been coaching under Kyle Shanahan for several years now.

Football is a mans sport for the most part. If women are to break in, it needs to happen in the high schools, and then up from there.

There is no reason why women can't understand football and become creative minds in the game..Lot's of coaches didn't, or weren't very good as players.

You don't have to play the game to be able to coach the game, though having played does give you a valuable perspective.

My thinking is a female would make the breakthrough in a more gender neutral sport like basketball.

I was a big fan of Pat Summitt, the former Lady Vols coach. She knew the game and was as tough as a nut. I thought she could have been able to coach a mens BB team. Pat was a great coach.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Pfffft you men.

I am ok with women coaches if they are qualified.
I wouldnt hire someone soley because of their race, gender, etc
They actually need to know how to do the job and do it well.

However, I dont want any women commentators. They all suck and its not natural.

It amazes me how so many start players flame out if they get a chance as Head Coach, and how so many backup/depth players, or guys who never played in the NFL at all, succeed.

jc...

What are Condi Rice's "football qualifications"?

I'm hoping this is just some idiot media types trying to prank the Browns.

Thank goodness Dorsey and Condi addressed this.
If I'm Dorsey, I ask a few questions about who is the source...then I file that info away.

Being big, strong, fast, etc. help a lot when you're a player, not so much when you're a coach.

This I can get behind...I like rice and think bringing her in for a front office position ain't a bad idea but she has no experience with coaching unless I'm missing something

I was literally about 15 feet away from her about 12 years ago, and she actually looked hotter in person then on TV.

OK.....so we just had a lawyer that only dealt with contracts in our front office making football decisions and most on this board nearly had to obtain professional mental help. Now because it is a woman who was SoS it wouldn't be a bad idea??

I am not really bothered if this offends anyone or people want to label me. I am a grown man words don't hurt me in the least. I just simply can't make sense on any level where it is a great idea that she is hired to the front office or as HC....Hiring a person based on solely being a specific gender, color, religious ethnic back ground etc etc just so you can be seen as being diverse is not in any way smart. A person should be hired based on their merits in that particular field not because "you want to show how progressive you are".

Now I will climb in my foxhole grab my helmet and prepare for incoming.

Actually, I think Continuity is the most important thing, have to see what this team can do by keeping the team together.

On that. Give Williams at least all of next year, if it means keeping all the Db's together.

EVery time the Browns change coach they all think that every db on the team has never been able to play a worthy snap, and they all think outside unknown quality level db's have to come in, and we all know

they don't play well together until they get some time working together.

Not sure Williams shoulda been, .. though Haley was going to..

but as it is, maybe they should Keep Williams, and

promote from within.

Keep the team together, ---- is the most important thing.

Oh, and Win 2 more before the season ends.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

If Condelezza Rice were named Hc of the Browns?

OH my. Just when you think you've seen it all, I mean this team, never ceases to amaze me with uniquely unusual things that only happen in Cleveland.
first to move and return, first to draft pharms in the 5th who goes to jail, maybe

first to insder trading, with Kendricks , but he plays for the eagles?

first to helmut throw dwaye rudd, lose a game with 0.00 on the clock

first to win with a Fg in Baltimore after the ball hits the (not upright or crossbar, but the groung pole of a fg, and bounces back out of the fg.

first to lose a game like the Raider game this year.

If Conde can get them to win 3 of 8 I'm all for it. I don't care if they hire Flo from progressive or whomever, Somebody Win 3 games!

plus we can look at her

As far as the Condi Rice thing, 1. she cant be worse than the last guy and 2. Me thinks this was Dorsey planting a rumor to catch a leak in the building.

well actually in the case of NFL football the gender biased is accountable. After all how many Women played Football, Division I, II, III??? almost every Coach in the NFL played somewhere. Sometime in their past.

So just how will a Female gender coach be possible. I think not.

I know its not politically correct. But its the cold hard fact of the matter.

ESPN is becoming more and more a joke. Liberals politically and have crossed that line.

They also are influenced strongly by Steeler veterans who are abundant in their Expert stuff.

So they make an April Fools type of statement in freaking November just to INSULT us FANS and the Organization that they claim is a joke...Actually I was the one laughing all the way last week when they ALL PICKED THE FALCONS as sure winners in our game! It wasn't even close and we actually had our first easy win in a long long time, so they have to insult us for their incompetence...I'll continue to get to laugh as the Browns will become Super Bowl Champions before ESPN becomes a viable sports information desk again.
