Trade proposal:

Marc Bulger, Josph Addai for Tony Romo, Larry Johnson...

which duo would you rather have?...

I think Bulger and Addai. Bulger is a lock for 3000 barring injury, because he does that every year, and Linehan likes the passing game.

Addai is a bit of a crap shoot, but I see him having a Brian Westbrook type season. Anyone on that Colts O is a good pick.

The reason I dont think Romo and LJ, is because LJ is getting a lot of miles, but the return of Priest Holmes (if he can complete his comeback) will take away carries, and Romo is a bit of a wild card. Wade Phillips isnt the best offensive coach, and Romo faded after his hot start last year. So its very up in the air.

The Romo/LJ combo can have high hopes, but the Bulger/Addai combo I think gives more concrete stats

Holmes is not taking any carries away from LJ, so dont worry about that, however, I would definitely rather have the Bulger/Addai combo hands down. In fact that is a steal if you pull that off.

thanks both of you...kind of what i thought...

bad news is that i'm the one with Romo and LJ, and i doubt the other guy would go for it, for the reasons you mentioned...

i had the 3rd pick, and i almost took Addai over LJ anyway (don't like Gore's PROJECTED TD's)...and QBs went ridiculously early in my draft...every guy had his starter by the 5th round!!...so i sat back for a few more rounds and just took Romo and Kitna back-to-back...

I'd take Johnson over Addai in a heartbeat, but I'd like Bulger over Romo......

But if you look at it like this......

LJ is probably the #2 or #3 RB in the draft and Addai is in the top 10. I think I had him around 9..... Bulger could be top 5 but Romo is somewhere around 10 or so.

Running backs are more important IMO and would slightly outweigh the Bulger/Romo factor, and I'd have to go with Romo and LJ. I just hope LJ's line does enough for him this year. You know he'll get the touches, especially with the lack of a good passing attack.

Romo should be solid enough for you, but Kitna could be big in that offense, so its nice to have that option. Dont get me wrong, LJ is a stud, so if the deal doesnt go through, you still are obviously in good shape. Although I dont know what this guy is talking about ranking Addai 9th, If I had the #3 pick, It would have been between Addai and LJ, I probably would have went Addai, but LJ is a no brainer and will still put up great numbers.

You'd have Addai ranked at 3? Wow.....I can't see that, but that's where people differ in opinions. I can't remember where he was ranked, but it was like 8 or 9 I think on my board.

I had guys like LJ, LT, Westbrook, Gore and Parker ahead of him.

that's funny you two are having that Addai difference...i only took LJ b/c i'd feel like a bigger idiot passing on him than i would passing on Addai, if LJ were to produce as in the past...

i thought that if Addai did slip to the 9th or 10th spot, i may be able to pull off a good trade for myself...of course, Addai was the #5 pick behind Gore, so obviously not as much of a value difference to the one i'd be trading with, hence worse option for me for getting the better QB...

Yeah, thats the reason i took LJ number 1 last year, I really thought that LT would have the best year (and he obviously did) but I felt like I couldnt pass on LJ in the 1 spot. I made it further than the guy who got LT (#2) but lost in the championship game.

BTW, here's my team which i'm not too stoked about...i like my starters but beyond that, yuck...i took Kellen with confidence, but i hated the board at Braylon's pick, and i NEEDED a 3rd wideout at that point, so i went homer...

QB Romo, Kitna

RB LJ, Jones-Drew, Deuce, Norwood, Lamont Jordan

WR Wayne, Colston, Edwards, Berrian

TE Winslow, Miller

DEF Chargers, Eagles

K Gostkowski

How many teams in the league, how does the scoring work?

just 8 teams...(yeah, it's THAT bad)...i don't know what happened...i usually draft pretty well, but from round 5 on down, with the exception of Winslow and Norwood, i didn't really like my options...

scoring is pretty standard except:

1.we've upped D-related points so that they're a more significant factor, and take pts allowed into heavier consideration, along with the sacks, TOs, and scores...
2. the value of QB yds were boosted (1pt/35 yds instead of 1/50)...

Actually guy...

Kitna should have a big year. He threw for 4000 last year, and with Calvin Johnson added to the WR corps, i think he could have an even bigger year.

I'd start Kitna over Romo and then i'd be pretty happy.

LJ is certainly going to get touches, as long as he doesnt lose 3rd down reps with Holmes and Bennett. He might not.

LJ will have a banner year, he's rushed for more yards since he began starting than anyone in the league (by a good margin).

The rest of your squad, is a bit iffy. On the positive side things, Deuce i think will surprise, because he is still going to get a lot of carries. I think everyone is over valuing Bush at this point

the trade was accepted! ...

i could lose out if LJ lasts, but i'm liking my chances to at least break even on the deal...

gonna have to work hard on snagging some surprise producers early in the season if i want to compete at all...

after last week's game, i really like the upside of Brandon Jackson as Denver's #2...Stokley is better in the slot, anyway, and that kid looked good...i'll be watching him pretty close...

no, no, not as my team's #2...as Denver's #2...he'd just be someone to watch as a better backup than Berrian (and maybe Edwards, depending on how our QB play goes)...
