Pryor lasted just two games with the Bills, catching two passes for 17 yards.

Hes turning into a pinball .. and there's a reason

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think his route running is poor from a WR standpoint ... and then his ego is large from a personality standpoint

Who remembers when it was Sashi's fault for not signing Pryor because he didn't know how to close the deal...

A lot of people felt this way the minute he signed elsewhere-- and even before, quite frankly.

A lot of people also said Pryor was a fool and he would never earn the money he was offered by the Browns. He bet on himself - and it didn't work out for him. I think he earned $6 mill the first year he signed with (think it was) the redskins? He should be set for life - but the Browns offered a lot more.

The man had 6 mill locked up ... that was his FLOOR ... u can lead a nice life to say the least on 6 mill ....

He could have had nice chunk more ...

He decided to gamble on himself and lost .....

As u said .... poor fella has to survive on 6 mill plus whatever he made on his rookie contract and in his short stints since ...

He LOST his gamble bigtime .... *LOL* ...

I respect him for gambling on himself ... now the poor fella has to somehow skimp by on 6 mill + .... hope he can pull it off ... good luck T ... thumbsup

True, but lets be honest. He put decent numbers here with 0 QB.

At the time, he was going to Washington w. K.Cousins at QB. Its not far fetched he could have had a better year and got better money. Gamble yes, but all life is and you play the percentages. If he got a 1000 yards here, % would be that he would have a bigger year w/ Cousins. It didn't work out, but I don't blame him one bit trying to maximize himself.

I don't get why fans feel players need to have some sort of loyalty to the team (employer) they play for. The teams certainly have none to the players.

Andrew Hawkins said the Browns tried to play him at QB without increasing his salary and that peeved him and he refused to go in the game. I can see that leaving a bad taste in his mouth and one of the reasons he chose to leave.

When I heard this I didn't put in much thought, however, thinking on it and considering it was in the middle of a game in which the QB's were dropping like flys and he is asked to play as an emergency QB and he flat out says pay me like a QB or I am sitting my butt on this bench would be the only reason I would need to let his butt walk on out the door. What kind of team player is that? You will play QB in a wildcat formation but when the team needs you to step up because of an injury and you say up my pay or no then nah kick rocks cus you weren't nearly as special as you thought you were.

I thought he was signed as QB first and the receiver tryout was an experiment. He should have been happy to a contract at all.

He had already begun the transition to WR with his former team.

Early in the year, I might have been interested, but this late, we already have one reclamation project at WR in Perriman and I think it would be better for the team long term to concentrate the reps and PT with him and other youngsters.

Most especially if that stuff about him wanting a raise to temporarily play QB in an emergency situation. Kick him to the curb.

There was the game we had a QB injury or two, and we played him at QB for a couple of Cribbs-type snaps. I was unaware of any discontent regarding taking QB snaps.

We were still in our PLAY GROUND ball era...you know make up plays as we go and improvise...Why KJ never hooked up with a team as that was our main play...um do this and then when Couch makes extra time get OPEN...

Pryor had numbers cause of that philosophy and that is also why he doesn't catch on cause he never really learned his position and nobody but the Brown's at that time was willing to teach him.

NFL teams don't have time to teach a position to a player especially once the season starts.

jmho Now he is still raw and way too OLD.

It was kind of a funny story actually that Hawkins told on the ThomaHawk podcast.

Hawkins said it was Kessler's rookie year and RG III and had already gone down with an injury, then McCown went down with injury so the next man up was Kessler.

Hawkins said that the coaches could see the look of panic/fear in Kessler's eyes and so the coaches went to Pryor and said that Kessler was basically pooping his pants and they couldn't put him out there. The coaches told Pryor to start warming up to go in and finish out the game. Pryor told them, "no, you're paying WR money, not QB money, I'm not going in."

Kessler ended up going in and that was that.

I could be wrong, but I thought he was signed as a QB and the WR project was an attempt to keep him on the team. I remember him playing a little QB, mostly Wildcat situations.

Per the Terrelle Pryor Wiki page, he was released by the Bengals on 6/18/15. The next day his agent announced he as open to switching to WR.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrelle_Pryor

Per the NFL dot com Transaction records, Pryor was signed by the Browns on 6/22/15 as a WR.

Hawkins said it on the Thomahawk podcast.

I understand Pryor's side TBH. He WANTED to be a QB and nobody would sign him for that, so if getting paid ~$10M less a year to play WR I wouldn't want to go in as QB either, especially as Wyo1975 pointed out we were already on our 4th QB so he probably didn't want to get murdered behind a terrible line with no WRs lol

Here is a man with convictions (not sure how many) who stood up for himself and failed to be adequate the NFL in two positions. He showed us.

Leave this alone. Unless he becomes something we might need like a long snapper or sumpin.

Man, I'd have cut his ass right then and there.

You do what you have to in order to help the team. It would be like saying "I'm not going to start. You are paying me backup money".

I dunno what your job is, but if my boss asked me to do a job that I was just rejected for, normally gets paid 2x the salary I'm making, is 10x more difficult and the 3 people before me got injured doing in the past 3 weeks, I'd also refuse.

No one was talking about a permanent switch, just to fill in during an emergency. It was a job he has done in the past. Football is a team sport, and pitching in during an emergency is what teammates do. This event shows me how selfish he is. Screw him.
