Well I thought we did as good as we could considering we were missing. Starting CB Ward, Starting CB Mitchell, Starting FS Randall, Starting MLB Schobert, Starting Weak side LB Kirksey.
Against the most high powered Offense in the NFL.
Not a good formula, most thing missing overall from the Defense was the art of Tackling was just missing.
Sort of funniest example as they showed it in slow motion. #27 Tavierrre Thomas. It was on the right side our left on the edge one on one...he came running up and in super slow mo shows him actually contorting his body to miss the runner totally almost impossible to do it was like HUH ummm buddy you are actually suppose to hit, wrap, get the arms in there, NOT AVOID ALL THAT...truly amazing. But that 2nd half as the Ward, Kirksey and back up corner were all gone. Just horrible tackling.
The only good tackler out there believe it or not was Peppers who had a decent game.
Our DL was intact and whatever Defense we provided was from them. They truly are a good front 4 but what good is that if your LBs and DBs have NO GAME. We need upgrades wherever and depth.
Collins I believe is USELESS! He runs to the action so so slow like a jog and is just a tad late to make any tackles and then when he's there it like his MOMMY said, don't you dirty that uniform as he never seems to want to lay out for an all out tackle attempt. Very disappointed and can't wait to get a real LB out there and get rid of this guy, I hope Dorsey realizes that Collins is the perfect example of a spec guy that just is not a "FOOTBALL PLAYER".
So pretty much we had Peppers and our DL, Kindred was terrible as well as the rest of the DB.
Oh one guy I actually like that I have seen on ST make a good play almost every game is #54 Vellejo he actually made one of the few pure tackles as he met the RB in the hole and stopped him in his tracks with his shoulder pads waist high and wrapped the arms behind the knees and made the tackle these guys should be making all the time. He did not dive at the feet hoping to trip up the runner. Sickening is all I can say on the tackling.
Offense, why don't they utilize Devalve? He wasn't in till late in the game and was the target on Mayfields INT. Fells cannot produce I don't care how great he is in PRACTICE he pretty much sucks out on the field game day. He cannot block he runs terrible routes and catches all the 5 yard and under routes with NO YAC no dragging would be tacklers no force you think you would get from a 6'7" 270 TE...he must roar like a LION but plays like a wussy cat!
We target Landry way too often and for some reason we think he can get YAC and the necessary 5-8 yards after the catch which rarely is more than ONE YARD.
Calloway is probably my most impressive WR. Ratley another we are in love with as he does get open but has alligator arms and drops more than he catches. He is not the answer. I don't know why we don't get Dez but too late I guess as we might as well go for the draft pick...I wish us to win every Divisional game that we have left.
We need to be healthy fast.
Impressive was Mayfield who again didn't look like his best but still his OK game is better than any we have seen. 69% with 2 TD both to Duke who seems to be playing on a thread health wise, wish he was healthy to produce a lot more.
There was a pass to the side line and he had one defender to get by and then clear sailing for a big gain or a TD. He simple jogged out of bounds I think he did so gingerly which in his defense he was injured but we need him to be that RB and make a move with stiff arm and get the YAC...playing injured does not help.
The guy very impressed with has been Chubb as he drags 2,3 defenders on his back for an extra 3+ yards so often that its not a one time thing. What I don't like is that ONLY BITONIO plays with the passion needed as these guys should be up there while Chubb is dragging these guys and hitting them so that the pile would push more forward or even have Chubb able to break aways from the pile. But the kid is impressive. Didn't realize he was that good.
So Harrison was ILL assume the flue and did not play. Robinson was decent in his replacement at LT. Hubbard is the guy that needs to be upgraded on. Hope we draft a good one.
Only complaint right now on Mayfield, he seems to be throwing his passes high, especially on his incomplete passes, I think he is having the need to get it over the DL (dropping back one more yard distance wise would cure that) and when he throws it with velocity it ends up too high. Njoku is the only one thriving on those passes. I wish we would target him a bit more and Landry less.
Duke without a doubt is our best WR, been champion him as the WR from the get go! 9 catches out of 9 targets. Landry actually was only targeted 7 times with 6 catches it just seemed like way too much cause many of his passes were short and not much YAC. OK and getting to our next guy PERRIMAN. 6 Targets and only 2 catches.
So what is the definition of PASS INTERFERENCE. Well according to the announcers it was exactly defined as classic pass interference on what the KC Defenders did to Perriman and no flag...wait oh I see we barely touch the WR and we got a PASS INTERFERENCE CALL AGAINST US.
Also another defensive offsides by their Rusher who sacked Mayfield...I never saw this before - without a flag being thrown the Refs huddled and actually corrected their NONE CALL...I guess they didn't wish to get FIRED. I'm sick of this especially the Pass Interference stuff. I feel bad for Perriman cause he actually impressed me but he was being mugged on some of those targets and NO CALL! REALLY. Then have it that way BOTH WAYS...not why we lost but still its frustrating cause its so obvious! And seems to be so ONE SIDED week after week. Oh another week without a hold called against Garrett.
Just watch this kid if you wish on the replay at least 5 times out of many reps but still he was held and then our OL gets called for ticky tack holds.
Oh I see Williams read my posts. Go on it on 4th downs and opt out of the FG attempt. We were pretty successful on that. I also stated hey, if we are going to miss the extra points might as well go for two all the time...good idea but we have to be successful on those at least 50% of the time. We were woefully an O for... We left 6 points out there and I hate when we pass the ball to a route one yard short of the End Zone with Landry getting -0- YAC again as usual. Why do that throw to a route that is actually over the goal line!
Well they got to work on that execution. What is it one more game then the bye week?
We need to get healthy.
We need to start winning.
We played good against a team that is way ahead of us in talent and continuity. One that Dorsey literally built.
What did you all see. Going in for a procedure Thursday, Hopefully all will be good. If I stop posting I'm either not doing well or I was banned. lol
What did you all see?

vicki here. I changed my name to something better suited. Thanks Eo for the great post!
Play calling was better. There weren’t any head scratchers. I liked that we didn’t run all the time on first down. There weren’t any trick plays that didn’t work.
Good 51 yarder from Joseph.
GW was a lot calmer than I ever thought he would be. I thought he would be very animated but was rather calm.
Offense seemed to have more energy and played better. Defense is ravaged. Please explain how Garett is a generational player? Does he do more than bull rush? Also, is he in the game when the opposition is running it his way? I just never hear his name.

YES. This. I posted it on the Postgames Thoughts thread. I keep seeing us do that same pass. over and over and over and over and over for 20+ years. If it's 3rd and 5, throw it 5 yards. If you make it you make it, if you don't, you don't. Completing it 3 yards does nothing! (unless committing to going for it on 4th)

Good thread, as always Tabber.
It was painfully obvious to me the difference in talent.
They had guys every single play running free or sitting down in the zone WIDE open. I don't recall Baker having made a throw to a wide open receiver all year. To me, that's because our WR just cant get open. They are either too slow or just not running decent routes. It seems he has to thread the needle every throw.
Kc was averaging at one point what 11 yards per play? That's crazy! I mean I know they are a good offense, but dannggggggggggggg
We still need so much its not funny. We need a C, RT, WR, possibly a TE since it seems Devalve cant get on the field. That's just on offense. We still need depth at CB, we need a LB possibly 2, another interior lineman (im not a fan of Coley)......Im not one of those guys that thought we were going to be 8-8, but man, I thought we were closer than we were. I really think we need 2 more off-seasons to fix this.

Most interesting Stat...and Vers this one is for you as you asked to notify you if you see a difference in play calling.
Throughout the year we were 40% in 3 n outs...the bottom 3 of the NFL.
Last week with Kitchens at the helm. ZERO, ZILCH... -0- Three and outs. Thought that was pretty darn good. And a big difference from our play caller.

And our D got more time to catch their breath a bit and regroup. It didn't do much good at all with crappy secondary and tackling. But I think that is a vital stat. hats off to Fredd!
