So in years past, I used to have to dig and do some legwork to understand what was leading the indoctrinated weirdos by the nose into.

But now it’s a short search, and, recently, I’ve found its glaringly apparent.

For example, years ago Vambo rambling incoherently about George Soros would’ve sent me into a rabbit hole trying to figure out where such Nazi-era anti-Semitic bizarre idiocy came from; 40 claiming that a terrified effete trust fund kid is tough would have had me me Googling to see where such a bizarre and seemingly brain-damaged opinion was spawned from.

But they’re sprouting up more and more to the point where one has to wonder - where is this nonsense coming from at such a rapid pace?

And my conclusion at this has to be Facebook?

Delusional elderly people have joined Facebook at such a rapid pace in the last few years, and given Favebook’s lax algorithms that allow creepy racist websites to not only breathe but be promoted goes a long way.

Like, who knew Breitbart existed 2 years ago outside of media wonks or creepy racist cranks?

It would be easy to laugh it off as dumb and lonely elderly racists, but there’s the same influx, aided by algorithm social media numbers, showing that the young version of these Breitbart Grandpas - the Can’t Get Laid or Hired Angry at Women and Minority Youth, is breeding a new generation of oblivious weirdos.

Where does this go from here, and can it be stopped?

Well, it use to be the chain emails that got people believing crazy stuff.

Now it’s foxnews and Breitbart, along with their respective comment sections. To be fair with Facebook, they allow the fringe to fester on their site from all aspects of...fringe? I told Clem a while ago about the black Israelites who love posting fake memes and huge reaches. So atleast with FB, all the crazies are welcomed.

Go read the incel subreddit, or qanon (I think its banned now so maybe not). It's all insane ramblings that 10-20 years ago would have never gained traction because there was no mechanism to group the crazy people together. You had things like usenet and IRC but it was used by significantly more technical people than now, so it limited the damage. Now everyone has a smart phone and access to Facebook and it creates a neat little safe space for you too, as you can just ignore viewpoints you don't like and blast the ones you do.

If you read up on how religious people get radicalized, this is shockingly similar as well.

and you wonder why no one takes you seriously. You have a lot of growing up to do.

Attacks on Soros are much less anti-Semitic and much more anti-left. Trump's rhetoric about dems and the left is verging on insane in his latest efforts to paint all things right wing as victims and casualties of the socialist left. If Trump were to be compared to Hitler, his 'Jewish Problem' would be the left and their beliefs in democracy and decency.
