I'm not sure if I've ever been alive or if the Browns ever even tied before? I'm not sure whether to be upset, disappointed, pleased or happy...

I'm sooo confused lol.

1989 Browns and Chiefs tied. It was also a rainy day and at the old stadium the field was even more sloppy.

First game that the Browns faced their old coach Marty Schottenhimer.

Ditto, I watched game with 16 Steeler fan and me in my Browns shirt. I left to their snickers when we were down 21-7...felt I had had enough of the SOS. Didn't go back to tell the snickering "fans" you didn't beat us......Go Browns!!!! A tie is much better than LOSING, again.

I was at that game. I don't remember it raining, but it was frickin' cold and windy. My wife had on these electric socks. The Chiefs had the "Nigerian Nightmare" Christian Okoye at running back, and we had Metcalf and Manoa. I don't think they had a hundred yards between the 3 of them. Steve DeBerg vs. Kosar, both were mediocre at best. It was a looooong boring ass game.

what an ugly, ugly game. All the Steelers turnovers, and a missed field goal in OT. At least James Conner looked good except for his awful fumble, and TJ Watt is real.

15 teams lost this week, and the Browns weren't one of them.

To me? A tie is a million times better (especially against the Steelers) then a loss.

And go ahead, try to tell me the end of the fourth quarter & overtime didn't have you at the edge of your seat... The blocked kicked sucked, but this is the Browns, so...you know.

I'll take the tie with a smile on my face.

It's so funny, when the Steelers were up 21-7 I would have done anything to just make it respectable.

When it was OT and they were setting up for a FG I would have done anything to have it end in a tie.

And in the end, I'm so angry we tied. I hate losing knowing we had the game to WIN.

In between, I was glad some of the horsecrap and nonsense they were throwing out got shutdown. We "lost" a game Sunday, but won some respect. We have a lot more upside IMO.

WE were lucky to salvage a tie, and shame on the O and the ST units for not icing this thing. But we are not there yet. If we had played that hard last year, the we would have a few IMO.
Our bar was screaming for us during this comeback and believed at the snap for the kick.

Went home exhausted. My head is still trying to convince my gut. Hasn't worked so far.

The bar was great, wasnt it? When the game started I was the only Browns fan. When the game finished everybody was a Browns fan. They all went nuts and we were on the edge of our seats.

Considering we've been a team that was put together 3-4 mos ago and been practicing for 1/2 that time as opposed to "that team just a bit southeast" I gotta agree to an extent. The one thing I haven't done is smile.

I still have that empty, meaningless, emotionless, wandering around aimlessly with no pride, goal, or purpose in life feeling and it's still "VERY VERY DEEP DOWN INSIDE ME". willynilly

tongue tongue tongue

But, as far as a tie? Dunno. Gonna find out in about 2 hrs. Gonna drive to my sisters in mentor and kiss her to see if that old saying is true.

There were 5 games that ended in ties between the years of 2012 and 2016. I believe that 8 of the 10 teams who had a tie on their record, actually reached the playoffs.

Ties are not as damning as some may believe.

Considering who we were playing and the fact that we were actually down 21 to 7 I don't have problem with a tie.

Neither do I. We were down that 21-7 well into the 4th quarter. Sure it's a shame that we didn't win, but we stepped up and didn't cave when they had chance after chance to put us away. That is a world which we are not familiar with.

One other thing about that tie:

I'm sure those players are re-evaluating their earlier efforts, and finding plays that could have contributed to an outright win. They now know what it will take to get the W every week in the NFL>

This was a good incremental lesson for them to learn. Perhaps even more informative than a win.
