Morality test

My son is actually in this class so he had to take this, haven't got to talk to him about it yet. Guess this explains why all of the news crews were in front of the school when I went to his soccer game last night.

What was this teacher thinking? I'm not really mad about it, but giving this as an assignment for a Sophomore English class is rather questionable judgement.

I found the link to the actual test, most of it isn't that bad. I wonder if the teacher even went through all of the questions before assigning it?

I'm on question 4 and it's already super horrible, to the point that I don't want to answer anymore questions. I feel sorry for the students.

In an attempt to procrastinate the test further, I looked into the company and they're so based on Jung, they have a free article titled 'Does Jung Like Plato?' holy heck. Can English teachers just assign a reading assignment instead of making their kids do buzzfeed tests?

I'll let you know what I get on the test, I'm expecting for whatever the equivalent of is demon for this test.

Edit 1: On question 5. I can't take the "Not OK" "Ok" choices seriously. I just hear the voice of the most annoying girl in the longest starbucks line saying it.

My niece's school did something a few years ago that caused outrage, and they we sued I believe.

They called it an anti bullying workshop. They lined all the kids up, and asked extremely inappropriate questions - those who answered yes, had to step forward.

Some of the questions:

Are you parents gay?
Are you gay?
Do you have anyone in your family currently in jail?
Have you been impacted by disabilities?
Are you raised by a single parent?

etc, etc.

Couple things about this "workshop" was one all it did was point out to bullies the kids they can try to bully for one, and 2. there is not a single question, that is any of anyone's business, let alone the schools. If I recall, my niece said they made them put on mask first as well, then take them off to "reveal" who had stepped forward. It really was a weird cult like thing, that honestly - has no place in school or society.

__back to the topic:

I am sorry your son had to take this idiotic test, and be part of some idiot teachers attempt to prove he is more progressive than the rest of the world, and that its HIS duty to try to make a point. I think there are a lot of teachers out there that feel they need to be doing more than their job entails, which is teach what's in the book - not their own beliefs. Some would call it indoctrination.

I hope you are able to speak to your son about this, and I really hope he was not bothered by it.

This was so dumb. I hope the teacher led off with a heavy trigger warning with an opt-out for students who do not want to take it.

Also, I don't understand how I am low authority, but also low liberty. That seems like it would be correlated.

I'm not sure if you've seen the questions in the test, but a turkey baster, bondage and lobotomy might be a good step above some of the questions.

I had a buddy who could do a complete valve and ring job on a small block Chevy Camaro 350 cu in V8 engine with just a turkey baster, claw hammer and phillips head screwdriver.

Well that was before liberals were tasking their kids with crazy real world scenarios and making them think about what they say and do before doing it. I don't defend this disgusting test, but I can see why a teacher would do something similar.

I can't, other than the fact that teachers are becoming bigger baby sitters than usual. Honestly, if this teacher didn't include a trigger warning, then this is a fireable offense tbh.

Yep, that test was pretty rough to read even for me. 3-4 questions totally crossed the line.

Wow! I didn't know there were so many pansies on this forum. You think these kids don't deal with these questions on a regular basis? Gimme a break! This test is nothing compared to their normal everyday conversations. There is nothing wrong at all is asking kids to share their opinions and start questioning their morality so that they can figure out for themselves how they want to make choices in life. Good teachers have been doing it that way for thousands of years all the way back to Plato and Socrates.

Also from the looks of it ... it seems fairly accurate.

I only found 2-3 questions on it that didn't have an obvious answer. 2-3 where you know the right response even if you know no one ever does it that way.

The difference between what kids talk about amongst themselves and a teacher assigning this kind of work to ALL the students is the difference. A group of christian kids might talk about incestual relationships, but I doubt they are going to ask if they take the pill and use a condom if it's ok for a brother and sister to hook up and experiment with sex. That's pretty far out there for mainstream America bro, nothing normal about that. I can't imagine what kind of life you've had where people shocked by that would be pansies.

cmon that one is one of those obvious it's bad questions. It's an obvious ewww question that any idiot would know is bad. Or at least we hope it is.

but yeah i guarantee they talk about worse. the things these kids see as normal would make most of us cringe
