Don't let us down and run out of money then... lmao

You sure do think you are paying for so much with your taxes. Trump spends your tax money 100 times over every every weekend playing golf.

Funny, I thought funerals were highly religious, which would should have no part in the government, or receive any type of government funding.....

The government has always helped to at least get a cremation to dispose of bodies. I think if you want more than that then you need to pony up the dough. I can see where exceptions could be made for extra aid if multiple family members are lost in a very short period of time and it overwhelms a family. Like a car accident where a child is left an orphan because both parents are dead. I can see a need to help that child bury it's parents. But normally most folks have plenty of time to make your arrangements.

You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.

Well the thread got made because of this comment
Quote:
And what we're also not talking about is why aren't we incorporating the cost of all the funeral expenses of those who die because they can't afford access to health care? That is part of the cost of our system. Why don't we talk about the cost of reduced productivity because of people who need to go on disability, because of people who are not able to participate in our economy, because they -- because they're having issues like diabetes or they don't have access to the health care that they need.

I'm not sure where she's advocating for universal funeral care.

Correct.

My question to her would be who determines if its because they didnt have access to healthcare or they just didnt make enough effort to get to it.
Universal healthcare would ultimately be a good thing, but with it needs to come some responsibility of the people to lead a somewhat healthy life, or at least not a completely unhealthy one.

This thread is just a smear job on ACO.

She rightfully said you have to factor all the preventable deaths and cost to bury people into any argument against single payer. She also called monthly insurance premiums, deductibles, and copays a hidden health care tax! Not to mention paying more for meds, procedures, medical supplies and paperwork (billing) than any other country in the world!

But the right hears, she wants to pay for funerals... smfh
