Since January 1, 2018 there have been 15 service members killed in the line of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Since 7pm Aug 3rd 2018 through 3am Aug 6 2018 Chicago saw 60 people shot and 11 deaths.

smh....at one point they attribute some of the violence to it being hot.

I spent my entire Saturday in 90 degree weather with about 80 people of all types of race and nationalities as well as men and women. All had guns on their hips. All fired 120-200 rounds that day. All laughed, joked, patted each other on the back for good efforts and offered encouraging words when a bad score was posted. Salty veterans offered advice and wet behind the ear newbs listened in on tips. And the kicker? Despite all the guns and ammo...we all went home safe and sound and no one was arrested. This goes on 2-3 times every month....the ORGANIZERS here are outstanding.........

There are segments of our society who have zero respect for life, except for their own.

In those places, you spray the crowd to kill your target.

Statistically speaking violent deaths are down in Chicago more than 20% this year.

Rahm is definitely getting voted out. I can't wait. Also festival weekends are always a lot more violent, but still continuing to lower every year. Chicago is a great city. You guys should all go.

Chicago is a beautiful city. I got an offer from Starbucks to run a regional department and move there about a year and a half ago. I had just bought my house.....even with that said I seriously considered selling the house I had just bought less than 2 months prior.

Chicago is fantastic, it's like a booming Cleveland with a prettier lake.

Since you're adding up all gun related deaths in Chicago, maybe you should actually add all related gun deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan for some validity.

I mean if you're only going to say how many soldiers were killed in the war on terror, maybe you should only use the death of cops in Chicago?

Just looking out for the welfare of US Citizens.

With, as I pointed out, some very skewed numbers that hold no real relvance.

Unless you wish to tell us how many people died from shootings in Iraq and Afghanistan.
