I know i don't post on here a lot but i read every day at lunch.
Both of my twin sons are in the Navy. one still in school up in Chicago soon to be Virginia. The other is stationed in San Diego aboard an aircraft carrier.
About 3 months ago my son informed and asked me if I would like to go on a Tiger Cruise. Not fully understanding exactly what it was I started searching the internet.
OMG. no way. this is freaking awesome. HELL YEAH i want to. reading about it and watching video hair standing up on my arms.

What it is I will board his ship and spend the next 6 days and 5 nights aboard. see what all the men and women do on a day in and day out on this ship. they will have aerial excercises. gun demonstrations, tours of the ship eating breakfast lunch and dinner with them and I am sure more which I wont find out till i get there.
I had to fill out plenty of paperwork and found out that i am officially approved for the cruise. Its going to be such an honor to watch and be a part of this.
New video camera bought, bigger sd cards for all cameras. This is going to be a vacation I will never forget. Chance of a lifetime.
Cant say where or when due to OSPEC. as soon as its over i will be able to post more information and pictures.

Has anyone else ever heard of a tiger cruise or had the pleasure of going on one.

I was in the Navy (VF-33) and was on USS America and USS Theodore Roosevelt. You will love being on a carrier! It is a pretty incredible experience.

Nice! Enjoy the experience.

my snoring and restless sleeping is so bad that if I had to bunk with those guys, I'd be thrown overboard.

What a great adventure!
Not many people outside the service would ever get to experience something like this.

Dawg... you gotta give a full report when you get back.
And pics, too- if you're allowed.

This is too cool.

A good friend went on it with his son who was an electrician on the Enterprise. Hawaii to S.D. That was probably 20 years ago and he speaks of it to this day! Never stops talking of the Jets going Sonic so low and close over the water! I'd say, "Don't miss it"!

Thank you everyone

I am for sure going to be taking pictures and videos.
I also plan to try and take notes through out the day of my encounters. if i dont i will forget some things and just want to be able to look back on it.
I have not seen him since first of March when he left for Japan to meet up with his ship. he is an electrician also 1oldmutt. wife and daughter are going to meet up in San Diego when ship come in and spend another week with him too.

another note my other son that's in chicago just finished his A school and graduates tomorrow ( heading up there after work today) just informed us last night that he will be graduating with honors and one of the top in his class.
so proud of both of them.
