Everyone who we drafted has a good shot at contributing this year. Maybe with the exception of Mayfield, lol.

He was one of our pre-draft propects visits, as was Calloway. Mayfield and Ward are the other 2 on the pre-draft prospect visit list who we drafted.

Long story short, He and about a dozen teammates helped a player kicked off the team for rape clean out his dorm room...without said player's knowledge.

Highlight of the story was the 8 and a half pairs of socks stolen in the incident.

Also had some academic issues, I think.

So, they helped throw a rapist out?

Must have been some dirty nasty socks they disposed of. Personally eight and a half socks probably would have been the least of the items gone (destroyed) if I had helped but I can get a little angry at times.

As for part of the academic issues, it seems there was a coach on the team that had many of the players take their ACT's in which the person giving the tests was changing answers for better scores. It is unclear exactly how much he or the other players knew at the time of the testing but he stayed accountable and took responsibility for it. He has struggled here and there other than that in school but as a testament to the person he is he gutted it out to stay in school to graduate.

The 13 University of Louisiana at Lafayette football players arrested in April recently had their charges reduced.

Following an investigation of alleged burglary, the 13 players were arrested April 25 when video evidence proved their involvement in a burglary in Huger Hall.

The victim, Artez Williams, was also a former UL Lafayette football player. Williams had recently been removed from the team following his arrest related to a case of second-degree rape on campus.

Williams was in jail April 5 when his former teammates took items amounting to $2,400.

The items stolen, according to the UL Lafayette Police Department, included an Xbox, some of the console’s games, a gold chain, various pairs of shoes, a Nike backpack, four pairs of boxers, eight-and-a-half pairs of socks, three coats and three dollar bills among other things.

Two of the players, Lawyer Davis and Vincent Thomas, were originally charged with a misdemeanor and can have their charges dropped completely if they complete proper community service.

The other 11 players’ charges will be reduced to misdemeanors. The players are: Robert Hunt, D’Aquin Withrow, Matthew Barnes, Denarius Howard, Trey Ragas, Jordan Wright, Joe Dillon, Jarvis Jeffries, LaDarrius Kidd, Terik Miller, Damar’ren Mitchell, Levarious Varnado and Simeon Thomas.
