Daniel Jeremiah presented a theory for why there have been more trades this off-season than previous off-seasons; he said that many of the GMs nowadays have either worked with each other or are friends. Before teams were always skeptical with one another because they always were trying to swindle the other team (just look at the Jimmy Johnson trade value chart).

With all that said, I think GMs today are less likely to lie to their counterparts because they want to keep the relationships with them good because they will want to make a deal in the future or for future employment or they don't want it to be awkward when they see the guy out on the road.

None of that addresses the possibility of a team changing their mind on their pick once they've traded into a slot. New information can change minds. For instance, the Jets may have, I don't think they did, tell the Colts they want to take a QB. But then they get new information that makes them rather pick B. Chubbs instead, exactly who the Colts wanted and didn't worry about the Jets taking Chubb 'cause they said, QB.

It's best for everybody to not disclose who they intend to pick.

I meant trading during the draft. If you make a trade like the Jets did then lie away.

If the Jets don't draft a QB at that pick after trading so much away for it, somebody's getting shot. Jets fans don't play around.

Cowboys are expected to sign former Patriots’ OT Cameron Fleming, per @FieldYates. This means the Patriots are now poised to lose both starting OTs from last season’s Super Bowl.

Somehow, the Patriots will figure it all out and they'll win their division and make another run at the superbowl.

I work with a lot of Patriots fans. There are two truths for them. 1) Tom Brady is a gift from god 2) Have faith in Bill

It's what they live by, it's what they know, and it's what they trust. The Patriots are pretty remarkable. There's no questioning that

I'm very excited.

Honestly, at 4 I want Saquon Barkley above all at this point. More offensive firepower.

Like the triple threat offense that we had with Chudzinski with Braylon, KW2, and Jamal Lewis.

I agree on the more weapons the better. I just think we can impact the team more by going Chubb at #4 and then drafting a Guise or Michel, or 1-2 others and be well represented in the backfield with the rook, Duke, and Hyde. Dayes? Who knows.

I completely agree with that 'peen. Chubbs at #4. Pick up a RB in round 2 or later.

If Guice is the plan, that's fine. After that, most of the guys i'm not too thrilled with.

Ronald Jones I like a lot, but he seems a lot like Duke Johnson. So I don't see a big benefit there. I like Duke a lot.

Nick Chubb at the end of the second I could get on with.

I'm not a big Sonny Michel guy, although I haven't watched too much of him. But Guice, I like a lot. My issue is, passing on Barkley for Guice, how do we guarantee we get Guice. And what would it take to get there?

The nice thing is that FA seemed to set us up with the ability to draft BPA if we want. Carlos Hyde, Duke Johnson, and a later rookie (don't want Dayes) wouldn't be bad.

So yeah, of course Bradley Chubb and Guice would be optimal. I just don't think Guice will be there at our second round pick. And I'm not sure what it woudl take to move up into the first to get him (best case scenario either way because you get him for six years with the fifth year option and one year franchise tag, without having to sign him to a long-term deal)

This.

In FA (and trades) we address QB, WR, and DB which I think were our biggest holes. We addressed RB which was another hole to fill with the Crow leaving.

Not to say that we are done with any of those positions, but we are not in as desperate of shape as we once were. So we can go BPA and not have to reach in order to fill a particular position.

I'm included in this. I thought/knew Landry was good, but the more I watch and read - safe to say I was sleeping a little. This dude is like JT too, always available and ready to play. His stats speak for themselves.

If you're like me, take the 10 minutes or so and go Google and look at what he's accomplished. So glad he's here.

I've followed his career and he was my number one FA target months and months ago. He's a very good wide receiver.

You need to watch Michel. He's good.

I am not down on Barkley. In any normal year, he would be head and shoulders above any 2nd round back you could select...at least on paper....but this isn't a normal year. There is a bevy of really good backs.

To me it just boils down to how to impact the team most, and in my estimation, Chubb and one of the other backs does more than Barkley and a 2nd round defender.

Now if Chubb is gone, Barkley becomes a very serious option. I haven't really thought much about Barkley and whoever v Fitz and whoever.

We keep assuming we will have three 2nd round picks. Maybe we trade a couple of them to work back in to the 1st round. My feeling is if we do draft Barkley, we might move back up. If we don't draft Bark, we almost have to stick high in the 2nd to get a back.

Then again, Dorsey has shown the ability to draft backs mid round who turn out pretty good. With so much talk about the 5-6 really well known backs, some of the guys with lesser exposure get lost in the mix.

I like Michel also.

But I still hope we take Barkley at #4.

I think it might be between him or Ward at #4. A lot Pending on Haley and Williams getting the ear of Dorsey...lol laugh

Get ready to move the chains. Hopefully, we can put up 30 or more a game. I think it happens if we get Barkley at #4. We will spank the Steelers and the Ravens!

I'm told that the #Browns and WR Jarvis Landry are close to finalizing a long-term deal that averages over $15/yr, per sources.

It will be interesting to see how the numbers wash out.

The #Browns and WR Jarvis Landry are going to agree to terms on a 5-year, $75.5M extension, sources say. He gets $47M guaranteed… crazy for those who considered him a slot receiver.

The structure will be interesting. $47 guaranteed could mean that the Browns could get out after 3 years, if for some reason they wanted to.

Agree with this, but I hope we are both wrong..lol.

Jarvis does some things really well, and has been a borderline top 15/20 receiver. I love his hands, and is a great route runner. I just worry about his YAC.

Really hope we see him improve his explosiveness in a new offense and take his game to an elite level. I guess I am really hoping Vers and Pit are right and we are wrong, and he does prove to be elite.

He should be a great weapon, especially for Taylor who throws a lot of shorter, lower risk stuff.

Back in the day we called those WRs the possession WR. Now they call them a slot WR or something like that. He's a perfect WR to line up across from Gordon.

I'm hoping that his presence makes Gordon much better
