Women’s Final

What an amazing final that was. One for the ages. Since there’s a good chance some may have recorded this I won’t mention the winner. Well both ladies were winners!

How about Roger Federer with his 20th career Grand Slam?

Interesting tidbit: in the summer of 2014 I bought a Canadian sports magazine (SportsNet, now defunct) and there was a story in it about Federer being in the twilight of his career. He's now won three Slams in the last year.

Know what the cover story of that magazine was? Johnny Manziel, and how the then-rookie might turn things around in Cleveland.

Federer getting his 20th Grand Slam is one of those amazing milestones never before done in men's tennis. He's certainly turning out to be the ageless one. Beating Celic in a 5 set match to win it was fun to watch.

After all the responses I got from the original post, I was just going to let this one die without saying anything about the men's.

Federor is amazing. If he was American, ESPN would probably talk about him in the same breath as Jordan and Brady.

That said, I don't really watch tennis other than glancing at a headline here and there.
