The Browns didn’t have a win during the 2017 season, but they will have a representative at the Pro Bowl.
Linebacker Joe Schobert has been added to the AFC roster as the replacement for Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier, who suffered a season-ending spinal injury in December.
Schobert tied Bills linebacker Preston Brown and Packers linebacker Blake Martinez for the league lead in tackles with 144. He also had three sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception while making all 16 starts during the regular season.
It’s the first time that the Browns have had a linebacker selected for the game since Jamir Miller was tabbed in 2002. They have had at least one player in the game every year since 2007.
Good for JOE !!

He did great this year, yet all of the local talking heads talk about replacing him in the draft. He made a lot of plays behind the LOS, forced fumbles, sacked the QB, and tackled everything in sight.
When the season started, it was stated that Williams would pull the MLB on 2nd and long, and 3rd downs. Schobert forced his way onto the field, and stayed there.

So, if Schobert got selected where he did, then what would've happened if Collins had stayed healthy? Same for Ogbah?
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

Schobert remains one of those guys who I feel is only scratching the surface. He was fantastic, but it feels like he's only just getting started. Hopefully the Pro-Bowl gives him a feeling of validity, and it helps in boosting his confidence on the return next year.
I also hope it lights a fire under Kirksey. Both Schobert and Collins being Pro-Bowlers before him must really sting.
I can't wait for next year. Schobert, Kirksey, Collins, Garrett, Ogbah, Shelton and Ogunjobi are going to explode - particularly if we get Fitzpatrick and a corner, and Peppers can take a leap playing SS.
Things are looking up, and Schobert is a big part of it. Congratulations.

I like Schobert. He plays very hard. He has improved his game. He plays w/passion and makes a ton of tackles. He does struggle disengaging from blocks and struggles w/his drops at times, but he was a very good draft pick considering where he was drafted.

I am impressed. At least MKC didna spend a bunch of time covering this guy. Maybe less opinion and more players would equal genuine sports coverage.
Good for you, Joe! Proud to see this.

The thing about Schobert is that this was his first year in this position. Williams challenged him to change his body and become more of a speed middle linebacker instead of a more powerful outside linebacker. For a 2nd year player to completely change his position and excel the way he did is amazing. I can't wait to see what he can do with a full off-season of studying the position and becoming more cemented in that spot!!
Collins - Schobert - Kirksey is a pretty fierce line-backing corps!!!

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think Schobert is a good piece of the puzzle. He didn't take plays off or quit He has a lot of upside and should only get better He could be more violent with hands and could do better diagnosising players But he played much better in 2017 as his hips were not so stiff

I would like to thank Tank Carder for suffering a torn ACL, and making this all possible.
