Thousands of People Are Joining Together in an NFL Boycott Over Veterans Day Weekend http://theconservativefighters.com/news/...campaign=buffer Many people are planning to boycott the NFL over the Veterans Day weekend. One Facebook group, with approximately 200,000 followers announced that they stand in “solidarity with veterans around the country.” “We will be not be watching or listening to NFL games on November 12th in solidarity with veterans around the country, as football players have continued to disrespect the national anthem, the American flag, and everything our nation stands for,” wrote the Facebook page. “Until millionaire football players stop protesting the National Anthem of the United States, we’ll be here,” the page continued. People who support the boycott also weighed in on the Facebook page. “I refuse to participate in an event that disrespects the United States of America. I despise anyone who disrespects those that have fought and those that gave their lives for our freedom. Keep taking a knee NFL and you will lose what fans you have left,” one user wrote. “Enough is enough. Politics and sports do not mix. This is a reminder of the Olympics boycotts in the 70’s. Not the proper forum for protests. Fans cannot relate to million-dollar crybabies. Get back to the work of entertainment,” another continued. Colin Kaepernick, former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who started the protests, is still without a job as nobody wants to sign him. The NFL is often in the headlines as the players continue to protests and many fans don’t appreciate. Decreasing ratings and ticket sales came as a result of this controversy, so many sponsors like Papa John’s pizza company have left the league. There are also calls to boycott NFL over the Veterans day weekend on Twitter.

I think there’s societal changes coming regarding professional sports. I’ve met a diversity of former NFL fans who I’m sure are permanently alienated from their formerly beloved teams. Browns fans, Patriots fans, Giants fans, Jets fans. People who a year ago were just as diehard fans as anybody. There’s dozens, probably over a hundred registered DawgTalkers who are gone now. No longer Browns fans due to the “kneeling”. So, why do I post here on DawgTalkers? Obviously because I like it. I have fun mixing it up with others and being stupid. (comes natural - it’s my forte) I think Clevelanders are the best people in the world. Great sense of humor and humility. (not conceited) I still love ya mom. Try to make it home for Thanksgiving.

First of all, Refs need to move this out of the Game Day thread and into the Tailgate Form. Secondly, I think I will begin sitting at every event I am at, when the National Anthem plays, to protest all who are protesting the players. As a veteran, I didn't serve this country for the flag, or the national anthem. I served for every one of you, and those we fought for around the world, to have the freedom to speak, believe, and follow our own dreams. I did not to serve so I could live in an oppressed state where we are ordered to do what someone else mandates us to against our wishes. Have any of you really listened to the announcer when he begins the announcement of the national anthem being played? He "always" says, "PLEASE stand for the playing of the national anthem" not "STAND for the playing of the national anthem". It is not a demand it is a request. That, is what I served for. I know the very detailed history behind both the Anthem and the flag, and what they represent. So, respectfully, I will sit in protest and watch the games today in protest, to all of those who protest (as is your right) the players expressing their basic constitutional right of free speech, for which I served this great country for and for what the National Anthem, and our Flag represent.
Bless all of you and God bless America
Please God give the Browns and my fellow Browns Fans a win today!
Hears to hoping Dorsey is the Browns Ozzie Newsome.

Your entitled to your opinion ... we agree on a lot ... I fought so people could burn the flag ... If i ever saw it i would more than likely get arrested for trying to stop it .. but i would defend the A-hole’s right to burn it til the death .. The thing u seem to not either recognize of don’t understand ... THEIR AT WORK .... up til this year they couldn’t celebrate TD’s like they wanted ... they can’t put messages on their shoes ... like u know .. when DeAngelo Williams wanted to honor his mother who died of cancer with her name on his shoes .... or the guys that wanted to honor the 9/11 victims the week after it happend by putting 9/11 on their shoes ... Thats not OPPRESSION??? ... where’s your rage over that OPPRESSION ... u gonna put the NFL sucks on all your shoes to protest that ... ... I dont blame the players .. i blame Goodell and the owners .. they’ve ALLOWED this to happen ... I do however think the players are A-HOLES on many levels ... but i don’t blame them ... U got a job .. go ahead and express your constitional right of FREE SPEECH by telling all the CUSTOMERS to go F OFF ... after all ... its your constitutional right ... Let me know how that works out for u ... Its all about how u see things .. u are free to protest HOW U WANT cause when your watching an NFL GAME YOUR NOT AT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!

With all respect and thanks for your service, how will your counter-protest be recognized when it can't be differentiated from the initial protest? Won't your remaining seated be perceived as being in sympathy with the players kneeling/sitting? Further, the players are not constitutionally entitled to a 1st Amendment right to protest while in the workplace. No one is.

I think all of those rules are foolish, and given the swiftness with which they're being eased, it seems most people do too. But I don't think the systematic oppression of blacks in America warrants comparison with corporate shoe decoration policy.

Anyone "protesting" today will be joining Joe DeLamielleure. He was just on the Browns network radio pregame and came across pretty darned strongly in his feelings about the current NFL environment.

I heard that too. Joe D said for the first time since he can remember he won't be either playing or watching football on a Sunday. He also said he's going to train for the Senior Olympics - apparently he's still in great shape. Good to hear from him; I always like the "where-are-they-now" segments.

Some of the same people who are outraged about the National Anthem would support a child molester for a senate seat. Color me unimpressed.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

From the beginning of the multiple player protests, it's appeared they take a knee just like when one of their own players is injured on the field. So Prayer.
So people got a problem with that?
I respect the players right to pray.

I hate this kneeling crap. What ever the players say, it is disrespectful to anything military. Also this crap about our National Anthem being racial is just that. A bunch of hooey...anyone wishing to debate this I guess PM me. Be careful as I will kick your butt.
In lieu of all that. I will be watching our Browns play. I am short in economics right now and pay for the NFL Ticket to watch my Browns. I have shut off Monday, Thursday or other broadcast games once I hear about the continued kneeling. I don't know if anyone has noticed but they don't show most of the National Anthems anymore. Cause TV knows their viewing has gone down so $$$ as stated is hitting them where they all hurt.
Quite frankly I hope they all lose money and the Cap instead of growing - goes down instead hurting FA out there and contracts going down instead of escalating...These players don't understand what they are doing. That they had such a good thing going on...now they have ruined it forever and watch there there will be a hotly contested BPA negotiations and possibly some striking...that would put Football in a position of never recouping their stand in our Sports. Baseball is all set up to take the America's sport back!
Soccer... being pushed on us from kids on up...as they hide the fact that they have a problem with Concussions...shhh don't let anyone know as its a Liberal/Socialism poliitically correct movement. I call it the wussification of America!
And yes I'm extra buzzed on my pain killlers right now...lol
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

I hope the people who skip the games today educate themselves. I suggest they Google Tamir Rice. Maybe it being in Cleveland will wake them from their hibernation.

Well, I said "some of the same people" not all of them.
And let's be real here. Many of those same people have no problem judging those in Hollywood in the exact same situation but when it's "one of theirs" it's innocent until proven guilty.
They need to be honest here. The statute of limitations is long over. There will never be a trial. So the entire "innocent until proven guilty" will never happen. Most of them know this. I mean, if you want to talk about a cop out.
You simply have to ask yourself that if after looking at all the people who seem to support this womans story, are you willing to ignore it all and risk voting for someone who very well be a child molester. There are MANY who are offended at kneeling for the flag but would risk voting for a child molester.
I find that a very sad thing and as a father to a daughter, I find it disgusting.

I'm from across the pond. I have friends who serve or have served; my family served in WWII.
I recall a few years back when I was out in Munich, a stag (bachelor party). I was speaking to one of the guys who has been in the military all his life. Clever, bright, passionate chap, a great fighter.
We were talking about the troubles in Europe, Syria, Middle East. As youy do.
His words still resonate with me.
"I may not agree with any of your opinions or ways of life but I will fight to the death to preserve the freedoms to allow you do to do so"
Like one of the first posts on this thread - the guys I know in the military aren't here to stop people expressing themselves. It's the opposite, regardless of your own.
We live in confused, dangerous times. I said my prayers at 11:00 today.

Still doesn't justify spitting on veterans. Millionaires with plenty of free time have the means and the funds to make a difference in a better way if they actually wanted to. Some of the same people who are outraged about the National Anthem would support a child molester for a senate seat. Color me unimpressed. Yeah, only about half that basket are the deplorables, right?

Cause Liberals wouldn't try to sabotage a Conservative Republican running for Senator...lol For a guy who spews the word REALITY you really don't get it. The left has taken a mantra of the ENDS JUSTIFY the MEANS. Their lying is getting me sick! btw take a look at Fusion GPS, take a look at the Podesta company. Talk about collusion with Russia talk about lobbying for Russia...oh right only Republicans can get investigated for Russia crap! The left is disgusting.
