The GOP's favorite to win Alabama's Senate race next month is being accused of inappropriate sexual conduct a 14-year-old girl in 1979, according to an explosive new report in The Washington Post.

Leigh Corfman, now 53, said she met GOP candidate Roy Moore when he offered to watch her during her mother's child custody hearing. Moore, at the time, served as an assistant district attorney.

Corfman said Moore asked for her phone number, and that the two met on two more occasions. On the first, the two kissed. During the second, she said Moore removed his clothes, took off her shirt and pants, and touched her over her bra and underpants, according to the account in the newspaper.

Corfman said the two did not have sexual intercourse.

The newspaper also found three other women who said that Moore had approached them around a similar time, when they were between the ages of 16 and 18.

All three of those women said that they never had any sexual contact with Moore outside of kissing. One 18-year-old high schooler told the paper that Moore would bring bottles of wine to their dates, even though the legal drinking age was 19 in Alabama at the time.

Moore and his campaign denied all of the allegations in a statement to The Washington Post.

“These allegations are completely false and are a desperate political attack by the National Democrat Party and the Washington Post on this campaign,” Moore, now 70, said.

His campaign added that “this garbage is the very definition of fake news” and that the accusations would have surfaced at an earlier point in his political career if true.

Moore is running to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, who was tapped by President Trump to lead the Justice Department earlier this year. He's running against former federal prosecutor Doug Jones, a Democrat, in the December special election.

They will still elect him.

No kidding. His base hailed Sessions as the Imperial Wizard.

If this was true they could’ve done away with this guy years ago when he was refusing to take the Ten Commandments out of his court room.

Hopefully he follows suit of the MPs and decides to off himself.

I don't think this is something central to Alabama or the South. There were tapes of our current president bragging about being a sexual predator on a widely circulated tape, to go with well over a dozen accusations of rape and assault against him, and he still won.

I guess Trump was right in backing Luther Strange.

After a long pause, Alabama Bibb County Republican chairman Jerry Pow tells me he'd vote for Roy Moore even if Moore did commit a sex crime against a girl.

"I would vote for Judge Moore because I wouldn't want to vote for Doug," he says. "I'm not saying I support what he did."

Pit,I have no idea if Moore did what he's accused of.. None. But there are 4 named woman that have come forward and 30 more who prefer to be left nameless. So there is reason to believe it is likely true.

What upsets me most is the length that these so called Christians will go to to defend him.

I'm not sure where you heard this, but a vast number of allegations have corroborations going back decades, many of them are long standing accusations that existed before he ran for president, including an underage rape charge. His ex-wife accused him of sexual assault in a rage after a bad hair transplant decades ago. He bragged to Howard Stern that he barged in on underage dressing rooms at his beauty pageants.

Couple those allegations that A) he's a serial liar and B) has bragged on tape on multiple occasions to being a sexual predator, and it's easy to see why the most logical conclusion is that he's a sexual predator and a rapist

It's interesting you bring him up, because an underage girl claims Trump and Epstein raped her. Another underage former Trump employee claims she was recruited for Epstein's child sex ring.

I understand the need for humor to deal with dark subject matter, but these men - Moore, Trump, Clinton, Weiner, Epstein - are sexual predators who prey on weak and underage women. I don't know what's funny about that.

There is a big difference between private citizens running around accusing each other. They will get their day in Court.

Making unsubstantiated accusations against a man during an election is very suspicious. He will have his day in Court as well but we have to be very careful with Guilty by Accusation alone. That kind of crap will effect all people whether it is politics or business or anywhere.

On a personal level it would be hard for me to support a candidate that "might be guilty" of such a thing. I guess I'm just not willing to flip a coin over it.

The election of Trump proves their politics is far more important to them than morals or the character of the candidate.

I long to live in a world where, when something like this happens, people talk about the issue and the merits of the allegations like adults instead of rushing to either attack or defend/deflect based on the initial behind the person's name.

This is Roy Moore, he is accused of doing some heinous things... it's not about Clinton or Trump or Weiner or Cosby or Spacey... They may all be sick individuals as well, but this is about Roy Moore... A grown man accused of sexually violating young girls.. Why does any of that other stuff really matter?

Watching the left and the right bicker over who holds the moral high ground on hypocrisy has become both amusing... and very sad, all at the same time.

Moore's lawyers didn't file a single suit yesterday or today. Didn't even threaten one. Why do you think that is?

I get what you're saying, but there's a danger in looking at things in vacuums, it becomes easier to see a bad apple. Dennis Hastert, at one time third in line for President, was a rapist and a child molestor. Bill Clinton, Anthony Weiner, Donald Trump, Roy Moore - these are just the guys with accusers brace enough to speak.

We can rattle off all the names in Hollywood as well, and these lists are long enough to be considered systemic. Dare say even ingrained into the system itself.
