I'm going to be there for a few days, and really know nothing about the place. Been sifting through some stuff online and got a few suggestions from friends familiar with it, but was wondering if anyone here has ever been and has any recommendations? I'll have a rental so can head reasonably outside of the city.

I've never been there, but if I went, I'd go see some of the castles there. I have heard that some are really beautiful.

Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

i went to Ireland on a 4 day weekend with some homeboys when i was stationed in Germany.

we flew into dublin but didn't actually do much there. we went to Wicklow national park, which isn't far, maybe 45 minutes? then we stayed around the Bray area for drinks and everything. so i would say definitely check out wicklow it's beyond beautiful.

and hit the coast up and down ireland using dublin as the start point. if you have a rental then driving down the coast will show you beautiful scenery of the irish sea.

Did Dublin last year with the wife and toddler. Wicklow is good as Swish mentioned. Hills of Tara, Glendalough, the Cliff Walk of Howth are all gorgeous! We went in November so same time frame. Weather should be pleasant even if needing a jacket most of the time.

Of course I'd hit up some pubs and perhaps the Jamison distillery and Guinness brewery smile

If you plan to drive, grab an Irish driving manual from the internet to get up to speed on the symbols. It's not *that* hard to get the hang of driving on the left but you want to know the signs.

Think Left as a driver. Roundabout coming up...to the left...to the left....Look right as a pedestrian when entering crosswalks and street crossings.

That was a rather inconsiderate thing to say.

If you hang out on the Royal Mile in Dublin, look out for pickpockets and other thieves. They prey on tourists in that area.

I have never been to Ireland, but from everything I heard, this statement is dead on. I heard it absolutely gorgeous.

I'd check out some Celtic Woman concert or something like that.

Oh the Emerald Isle!
Greatest band: U2
Van Morrison deserves accolades.
There have been several noteworthy Irish drinkers with a writing problem. Ireland helped to populate Newfoundland, also.

Go see the Book of Kells at Trinity College. Phenomenal.

The Temple Bar district is where a lot of "famous" pubs are in Dublin, however, it is also very touristy. If you can find some local pubs it will be more authentic.

The island is tiny...if you get a chance to rent a car and drive I recommend it. Highly recommend the west coast Counties of Galway and Mayo.

Yeah, I've been brushing up on all that. It's going to feel pretty weird, I assume.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone, will report back.

I don't think he did it on purpose.

I was going to suggest touring the Guiness brewery before I remembered.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
