I was just browsing around on Rotten Tomatoes and saw that they'd come out with their best and worst lists of so far in 2007, so I thought I'd ask here what your favorite movie is of the year so far, and if there were any movies that particularly disappointed you.

For me, I just saw my favorite of the year today in the movie Waitress, which was a spectacularly written movie that somehow felt familiar and different at the same time. I absolutely loved it. It was great, IMO.

As far as the biggest disappointment of the year, I'd look at Shrek 3. I loved the first two movies this one was too short and not worth the extra time. I read a theatre critic once you wrote about a play that "at least it had the decency to be short", that was how I felt at the end of Shrek 3.

Faivorite: Pirates of the Carrabien 3 I felt it could have been better but a great movie still

Unfaivorite: Fantastic 4 Rise of the silver surfer personallay I felt the movie was to short and boring because it talked about the fantastic 4 lives outside of ass kicking.

Well, so far, the list of movies I've seen in 2007 (that I can remember seeing) goes something like this:

300
Harry Potter and the OOtP
SpiderMan 3
Transformers
Grindhouse
Ghost Rider

Of these, Spiderman 3 and Ghost Rider were the best, Transformers was also good. IMO The most disappointing for me is Harry Potter and the OOtP. They left out too many little details, altered some of the scenes and how do you make the longest/biggest book in the series the shortest movie? Especially when the first two books were smaller and they each were 2 hours and 40 minute movies?

Grindhouse was also not as good as I thought or hoped it would be, though the first movie was pretty good and the fake movie trailers were funny.

Probably...
1a - 300
1b - Transformers
2 - Spidey 3

To tell you the truth, I think that might be the only I've gone to see in 07 thus far.

I like watching on DVD, that way I can consume wine and pause when I need to alleviate the wine.

Better '07 DVD releases:
1. Illusionist
2. Alpha Dog
3. Shooter
4. Breach
5. Hannibal Rising
