Who was the OLineman that the patriots traded for from the cardinals but soon after was released...? We signed him shortly there after. Are the patriots failures because he didn't work out for them?

And I'm just commenting here not pointing fingers, but just because one player doesn't work out doesn't mean they are failures. It seems like every one thinks the patriots hit on every player they draft and sign. They don't. It's been two years and I hear how the front office sucks at drafting players. I have to laugh here, but how does anyone know?? It's only been two years! Not even.

I get tired of the "we lack talent" cries. We aren't expecting to win a super bowl, but we are talented enough to win games, just not consistently. I think for the first time since mangini there is an actual plan in place. These guys thought this thru and are methodically fulfilling their plan. It's not going to happen over night. Am I frustrated by the losing? We all are.

I think the players they have drafted thus far have been fine. I'm not ready to give up on anyone just yet. Has the front office been perfect? No. None are. I think they have made some good calls on players including terrelle Pryor and Joe Haden. Apparently no one wanted to pay haden because they couldn't trade him for anything. This front office isn't afraid to make the unpopular decisions in Cleveland and that says these guys are first and foremost concerned about building a winning franchise. These guys need to be here for the long haul.

Great point.... Winning franchises don't happen overnight. We are rebuilding from the ground up (complete demo job). It will take time for players to develop. The average player on this team has been in the league for less than 3 years, the average is around 2. It will take some time. We also have to find out what players we have at each position and how they can contribute. There is a plan in place, we just have to give the coaches and Front office enough time to develop their rebuilding plan.

I would have liked to have kept Haden. Not saying he is what he once was but he would have added some much needed depth to a position of need. I feel it was a cost cutting move buy a team with a ton of cap room. If they would have cut him over the summer, no prob. But it didn't and does not sit right with me to cut him at the end of camp.

Other than that, I completely agree with the moves the FO have made. I think the 2016 draft class is showing some talent and I expect the same from the 2017 class.

We have to give it time It hurts I know, but we have to be patient. As far as JH, I would have kept him too at least for this year but no longer.

I've tried to stay away from this thread, but this post doesn't really have another place to go.

I think a general idea of "money ball" was that we weren't ganna spend any money and we were just ganna trade back constantly.

We have already nipped both of those thought processes in the butt.

We traded UP more in this last draft than we did down. Targeting specific players and getting them.

We also signed multiple FAs to fill holes on the OL and WR.

(Why there were holes there, is another story, but not the point of this post)

Everyone seems to be freaking out that out WRs and CBs suck (right now). And they do.

But that's looking at 2017 in a vacuum. Everyone wants to talk about building for the future, and that this season is just for progression, until it started, and now everyone sucks and needs to be fired 3 games into it.

I look at it this way.

We had holes on the OL, and the draft wasn't very OL friendly. So we went out and signed some.

We have holes at WR and DB, so between a crap ton of draft picks, and a crap ton of money, we should be able to find better replacements.

Next offseason

I know that's not what people want to hear. But it is what it is.

I look at Philly, they got a QB, started him, he took his lumps, and then they went out and bought him some more talent around him.

Is it so hard to imagine, Kizer taking his lumps. And then coming back in his second year, and being significantly better? And then with that, with significantly improved talent around him? Being EVEN better?

I just feel like, overall, no one specific, that if the Browns don't win right away, with a new set of coaches and FO, then the plan of replacing them has already begun by most posters.

As if, if we just keep swapping out people, "some day" we'll get "lucky" and catch lightning in a bottle and win a SB... That's not how it works.

Even the teams that come "out of nowhere" were built over time. Adding pieces here and there. Until something finally clicked.

Overall. One of my main points has just been "not firing" people. There's a chance Sashi and Hue don't work out. But if you fire them after a year and a half basically. You'be still perpetuated the idea that no one gets any time in Cleveland. And your next hires won't be that great most likely.

If you give them a total, of at least 4 years. (We are 3 weeks into year 2 btw) and then, the consistency isn't there? Sure. Fire away. Do whatever you want.

But we need to stop demolishing the house before the cement is even dry.

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

Here's the big problem with spending big money on free agents. First off, if your team is not a winner the majority of players are not going to sign with us. Second, with the way the front office and coaching have been doing you honestly think a top-notch free agent is coming here? Third and the biggest is the overspending for that player and ending up with another Britt who is looking for their last big payday and not performing. The last thought is, do you really trust this front office to get it right? I certainly don't.

Here's the problem with thinking we have to lose for 3-4 years. This is only in Cleveland do we think this way. We didn't need to tear this club completely down, Doug Dieken said the same thing numerous times. WE could have drafted Wentz, Watson, Derek Carr. Why? Poor front office. I do not put trust into a lawyer who has no NFL experience. Also, he makes the roster decisions too. So far he has shorted this club in WR and CB's for two years.

The WRs were shorted during Farmer's tenure as GM. Last year the new FO drafted 4 WRs and a TE who could do both (Devalve). Where they did not add any from the draft this year, they most likely wanted to see last year's draft picks play to see what needed to be done further. As to CB's, Body-Calhoun was sign as an undrafted FA, and they drafted a CB in the fourth round who has a second round grade, who is spending the year on IR.

All I know is that we HAVE TO and I am pretty sure we will start winning games. I know we are not going to the playoffs unless our Division just goes downhill. But the important thing is we establish that WINNING MANTRA...add another amazing draft class along with key FA's and we should be there in 2018...

All this talk about HUE being gone or Sashi and the Harvard boys being gone will be history. They actually will become Browns Heroes for a long long time!

Go Browns! Lets start this by winning the battle of OHIO!!!
