Back when we were a real football team, it wouldn't let me post the video so here's the link, enjoy.

one of my first memories of the browns. I remember seeing my dad jump up and down in the living room

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

thumbsup I can still hear Gib Shanley on the radio ...

"Ryan back to pass - he throws the LONG BOMB - COLLINS! - GOT IT! - TOUCHDOWN FOR THE BROWNS!".

Awesome memory - thanks.

thanks GM. I literally had never seen a play from the championship (you'd think I would have).

Hearing all of those GREAT names that I've heard of from my family is poignant ... that was a hell of a team clearly.

Also, it's funny how much the game has both changed and stayed the same (if that makes sense).

Last comment: man, people looked WAY older back then than they do today

I was -22.

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

I was at SNEBB (The Southern New England Browns Backers) in Windsor Locks, CT with ~ 100 other screaming Browns fans.

I was 12. been a Browns fan four years by then, following in my dad's footsteps. I remember drawing pictures of many of the players after that game.

I was watching this on TV and left the room just fro a short time hoping the Browns would get he ball back and drive for a winning FG.I cam back in & I see Metcalf getting mugged by teammates and at first thought it was a replay from the first one. Then I realized the lights were on at the stadium and I realized it was live.

I went nuts in my living room. Games like that and the Jets 2 OT playoff game were awesome. I am always optimistic the Browns will get to that level again soon.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I will never forget that game.

I went over to my buddy Mickey's house. He had (at the time) a very young daughter. We went through all of the ups and down of that game, and finally ...... finally .... we won .... and just went nuts, whooping it up like crazy. His daughter woke up, and came stumbling into the living room, saw us high fiving and going nuts, and burst out in tears.

She a pharmacist, IIRC, today. crazy Man, that always makes me feel old. lol

I haven't talked to Mickey in years. I should try to find his number and give him a call.

What???

The refs threw a flag on that "clean" tackle of Bradshaw by Turkey?

Roughing the QB?

He was able to walk again wasn't he?

Seriously though, I feel some major nostalgia watching those great late '80s Browns.

What great seasons. What great teams.

Probably my favorite Browns game. We were screaming our heads off during that second return. The best part of it was that there was a Squeelers fan in the house talking trash through most of the game... Talking about Metcalf getting lucky on the first return.

"What was THAT, John???" Did he just get lucky again?!"

What a game!

Another favorite was one of our first real glimpses of Metcalf on a national stage. Game 3, Bengals, Monday Night... Dierdorf flipped his lid when this play went down. Still have never seen another player with moves like these.

Play is at the :30 mark.

No doubt. I was there... unexpectedly lol, just got tickets that morning. Ill prepared for the cold on the lake, a bunch of us were freezing our butts off in the endzone when a welcome flask of whiskey came down the line of seats in the first overtime! Crazy times man. That late pass to Slaughter was the most electricity I've ever felt at any sporting event. Thanks for posting. Just watched the last 3 minutes and winning FG, probably go back and watch the entire game later.

Me and three other SNEBBies were in town for the November 21, 1999 Carolina Panther’s @ Cleveland game.

We just got back to the hotel Saturday night after spending the day watching the Buckeyes/Wolverines game at a bar in the Flats (a day I went skinny dipping in the Cuyahoga river - in mid-November - and of which a photo was taken and posted on the official Browns Board (it was PG-13)(by a poster named DawgPoundGordon)

Anyway, we get in the elevator, We’re trashed. It’s us and a black guy. All of a sudden one of my buddies says “Eric?”

It was Eric Metcalf.

He was very accepting of our drunken adulation. Super class act. (he was a Panther at that point)
