For the first time since Courtney Brown I'll be buying a player jersey this year . . . Njoku is the selection. I've offered to buy a friend Pepper's jersey if he doesn't like what he's seeing from Pepper's by Christmas ! (he hated the pick).

If anyone knows the best place to buy jersey's shoot me a pm please! Thanks

You know whats funny? I didn't think much of Peppers, but now he's a Brown, I want to buy his jersey. JT is the only one I wear now. Could change if I buy a Pepper One.

As a UM fan I feel I can purchase a Peppers jersey regardless of how long/well he plays for the Browns.

Considered getting a custom #5 Peppers jersey, but 27 isn't a bad look..

I was thinking of getting a Garrette, although I'm nervous about it. My jersey selection is almost cursed.

I bought Joe Haden after his rookie year, I was right about that. But I was always right about Joe Haden. Knew he'd be a good player. But then I bought a Wimbley jersey after his rookie year, and I bought a Trent Richardson Jersey as soon as he got drafted. Both didn't work out. Of course, most Browns 1st round picks haven't worked out.......

Maybe I'll get a T-Shirt

We picked nine of Gil Brandt's top 150 players. That seems counterintuitive to me because Brandt is about as old school as it gets when it comes to player evaluation.

Here is a long but good read about the Browns Draft. Toward the end is a collection of quotes from scouts (before the draft) about the players the Browns picked. I c/p one about Kizer which could prove enlightening.

On QB DeShone Kizer:

Scout 3: “He’s a pure millennial. He’s caught up in being more of a quarterback image than being a quarterback. If he goes to the right spot with the right coach, he’ll ascend. They’re going to have to get him to focus on football. I honestly think this guy would do better in a small market. If he goes to a big market he’ll enjoy everything else that comes with the position. The one position in the building you don’t want to worry about whether he’s going to be focused on football is quarterback.”

Curious as to where this critique came from. I've never seen that, and it'd be pure speculation on my part if I did.

We will see if he can mature. Kid is 21, lots of growing to do.

The takeaway from the quote I was focusing on is that the right coach on a small market team would be the ideal place for him to realize his potential. Kinda like Hue in Cleveland.

true. one thing we have going for us is his youth ... he'll be one of the youngest QBs we've ever fielded on a roster. Not too many dudes are 21 at the QB position

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Whether the Rod Johnson pick turns into an overachiever, or an underachiever, I think is the most pivotal for the Browns.

The most forgotten pick has to be Days.

Is Peppers #27 number an eligible receiver number on offense, or will they have to announce to the official, everytime they try to use him on offense.

I'm familiar with NC St due to family rooting interests. Dayes is a capable receiving back and 3rd down guy. He lacks speed, but is shifty and reliable. Good one cut runner. Decisive. Good blitz pick up.

I think he has a shot to contribute.

I'm not sure this is true. I'm assuming you are saying this because of Thomas' age, the fact he graded as the 17th best offensive lineman in pass pro (PFF), and he has an opt out clause after this year. Still, we have five picks in the first two rounds next year. If good Left Tackles are to be had, just like any other position, we have plenty of assets to potentially get one, or even more ambitious, trade up for one we like.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

Nice video about our draft. 2 warnings:

1, it's 42 minutes long
2, it will leave you pumped about the upcoming season

Final tally of where Browns fans graded the team’s draft picks

http://www.dawgsbynature.com/2017/5/6/15...ams-draft-picks

After each of the Cleveland Browns’ ten draft picks, we wrote an article that included a poll for fans to grade each selection (A, B, C, D, or F). Some of the grades might be more reflective of impulse reactions after the selections, as opposed to how fans feel today -- for example, I think that the grade for SS Jabrill Peppers might be a little higher if I conducted a new poll today.

Nonetheless, here are how the picks were graded by fans from best to worst. Note that each pick was graded independent of the other — in other words, the fact that K Zane Gonzalez is second on the list does not necessarily mean that he is the team’s second-best pick.

For the purpose of the grading scale and computing a score, A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1, F = 0.

DE Myles Garrett = 3.82 ~ A
K Zane Gonzalez = 3.63 ~ A-
TE David Njoku = 3.21 ~ B+
CB Howard Wilson = 3.00 ~ B
OT Roderick Johnson = 2.98 ~ B
QB DeShone Kizer = 2.93 ~ B
DT Larry Ogunjobi = 2.92 ~ B
RB Matthew Dayes = 2.55 ~ B-
SS Jabrill Peppers = 2.52 ~ B-
DL Caleb Brantley = 2.41 ~ C

Right on both counts, jester. Watched it all, too.
We don't know if this draft will pay off on the field, but I feel stoked.

Overall grade averages out to 2.997, a B, which is just slightly lower than my highly scientific poll on K9 Consensus which averages out to 3.197. Safe to say we are more optimistic than Dawgs By Nature posters. We may also be smarter. Or else dumber.
