Eagles QB Chase Daniel drawing interest on market

The Eagles made waves last season when they traded Sam Bradford out the door to Minnesota. Could Philly be planning to send another quarterback packing?

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that Eagles backup Chase Daniel is "drawing interest on the trade market" and remains "one to watch" as teams restock their quarterback rooms this offseason.

The Eagles are set for years at the position after trading up in the draft last offseason to land Carson Wentz with the No. 2 overall pick. While his rookie season was filled with ups and downs, Wentz showed moments of pure promise while keeping Daniel on the bench from wire to wire.

After being touted as a potential starter after Bradford was traded, the 30-year-old Daniel threw just one pass all season. He wasn't thrilled about his situation in Philadelphia, making an offseason trade a sensible option for both sides.

Rapoport didn't name potential targets for Daniel, but it's fair to wonder if teams like the Browns, Bills or Jets would be interested in adding the veteran as a bridge-passer for a season or two.

We'll find out soon enough if Daniel is bound for new shores.

I'd rather have Brian Hoyer. Daniel is 30 with very little to show in this league.

First McCarron, now this, Couldn't you write this article about almost any backup in the league that's behind a for sure starter?

Who's next?

Tom Savage?
Connor Cook?
Trevor Siemian/Paxton Lynch?
Bryce Petty?
Colt McCoy?
Brian Hoyer?
Derek Anderson?

Those last three though...

Please no. I'd rather have Foles, Taylor, or any ex-starter

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

With the Garroppolo talk being squashed, it was only a matter of time before the media moved onto the next name that they can try to get to stick -- they have to have something to talk about, and everyone loves to talk about QB's.

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Yup. There was a media-type on twitter who said there really isn't much to it and the media has fabricated this rumor for the most part.

At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.

I hope we're not even considering this. Not even making a phone call about it.

Being the Browns...we will need to field (4) QBs like we do every year...and we give #12 overall for Chase Daniel lol

Kidding aside I want no part of Chase Daniel...Eagles inked him to big contract for someone whom showed what one glimpse in KC...no thank you

The teams that are interested are looking for a back-up. We aren't one of them.

I agree with you on Foles.

Fix Oline in FA this year, draft D.

Get QB 2018 draft.

Be in the mix 2018, 2019.

BUT we won't do that..

What if Sam Darnold does not come out?

What if Josh Rosen does not come out?

What if the Browns have 1st round draft picks between 10 to 15 in 2018 and QB needy teams do not allow the Browns to trade up no matter what we offer. Like Indy did when Luck came out?

If they see a franchise QB they must select him. No telling when another oppurtunity arises. That is why I would still give The Pats #12 for Garrapolo.
