Lol, in all seriousness, conservatives. Let's see what your boy can do.
Trump is official, now.
75 months of job growth, 3.2% economic growth last quarter, 4.8% unemployment rate, corporations were already reinvesting into our country prior to his...lol, tweets. More than 9 million jobs currently available, mostly full time employment opportunities.
Let's hope for the best. Don't screw it up, President Trump.

I wasn't as disappointed in his speech as I thought I'd be. I really expected one gaff after another but no, he was OK.
What I did come away with is that he made it clear that to me that everybody that had his job before failed. Or at least he thinks so. (tells me he doesn't really know how big this job is, but we'll see)
This speech sounded more like a campaign speech than an Inauguration speech.
It clearly wasn't a "ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country" type of uplifting speech.
I got a kick out of a couple of women from pittsburgh being interviewed afterwards. ONe said, she was happy that he mentioned God in his speech and that no other president ever has.
That of course is total BS. Every President has mentioned God in there Inauguration speech.
But that aside, he made a lot of promises today. Let's see what he's got.

Trump is not a conservative, so I would expect that his time in office will be a campaign, against both parties.
While I am encouraged by many of the things he has done to start, I am still worried about him as President. I hope that he will be able to keep the establishment on both sides on their toes, and get them to do the peoples' worlk, and not their own political games.
I just wanted to mention one thing. I was watching former President Obama's (it is nice to be able to say that) Executive One land as the Obama's head out to go on a vacation ..... and the ceremony and precision of the Marines in all of their formalities is just beautiful.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Behind in the polls in late October, Donald Trump ventured to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to give American voters a "contract" detailing what he would achieve during his first day in office. Beneath a list of 18 major actions was the flourish of Trump's familiar signature and a blank space for voters to sign.
But as Trump becomes president on Friday, it remains hazy as to which actions he will immediately take.
The list included several items likely to fire up Republican voters but backed up by scant policy. It includes "begin removing the more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants" and "cancel every unconstitutional executive action ... by President Obama." Trump has already backed down from one pledge to label China a currency manipulator, recently saying he would first like to speak with the Chinese leadership.
A look at 10 of the key promises Trump made for his first day as president:
—Introduce a constitutional amendment for congressional term limits.
—Freeze hiring for the federal government to reduce payrolls, although the military, public safety and public health agencies would be exempt.
—Ban White House and congressional officials from becoming lobbyists for five years after they leave the government.
—Announce plans to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement with Canada and Mexico or withdraw from the deal.
—Formally withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
—Lift restrictions on mining coal and drilling for oil and natural gas.
—Remove any Obama-era roadblocks to energy projects such as the Keystone XL pipeline.
—Cancel U.S. payments to U.N. climate change programs and redirect the money to U.S. water and environmental infrastructure.
—Stop all federal funding to "sanctuary cities," places where local officials don't arrest or detain immigrants living in the country illegally for federal authorities.
—Suspend immigration from regions associated with terrorism where vetting is difficult.

I would tell you to drain the swamp but.....if you follow the new administration's lead, you might end up adding more to it.

When talking infrastructure what are we talking about? Bridges, roads and the like? During Pres. Obama's 1st term you almost couldn't make two turns without driving through or by some kind of traffic related construction here in Central Ohio.
All of it with a sign that read, 'Paid for by the Community Reinvestment (such and such) act.
With all that money spent on infrastructure just 7-8 years ago, all across the country, what needs done now?
WE DON'T NEED A QB BEFORE WE GET A LINE THAT CAN PROTECT HIM my two cents...

They can start by fixing the road near my house that goes over the tracks. They tore it up and filled in the holes with gravel. Gravel! It makes giant potholes that will tear your car up.
Fix it already!

Thank God it's not Hilary. Thank God Obama is No Longer president, and can't do any more damage.
Any " gutsick feeling" you all have had, I've had for most of the past 20 years, and any shouting protest crowd's feelings I've felt as strongly for much of the last 20 years, on the opposite side.
With the Clintons, since 1992, through 2000, and the Bush's which acted like democrats, and the Obama's. I made it, I made it 8 years without listening to more than 10 seconds per time of anything Barrak Obama would say when he opens his mouth.
And if you want to consider unqualified non politicians, If this country could survive 8 years of Barak Obama, then It surely will do better with Trump than it would have with Hilary and all she may have done.
so again, nannerdance x 3, you can just imagine it.
Your gutsick feeling is my first sigh of relief in AT LEAST 8 years. Finally. Thank God. Whew.
( Not my Protester! Not my protester!) Halelujah, Halelujah, I feel free again. Does this mean the federal government is not trying to kill me anymore? I'm not sure, but perhaps, it means the focus is not as strong.
Does this mean we can finaly end the racism, the racism they procure on us in propaganda from their networks like PBS, or shows like 60 minutes, or found in public schools, The very kind of racism they proclaim and enact every time they try to highlight or recognize or celebrate some thing or some one based solely and primarily on the race of a persons birth. If only we really could end the racism, end the Bull! that the hundreds of, litteraly hundreds of sources bombard us with in everyday life, as we live life, over decades and lifetimes.
But sadly we really haven't come that far, any far at all, and will not as long as any one group is celebrated or recognized simply for it's birth.
but again. Thank God it's not Hilary. Thank God it's not ANY democrat!

So is this bloated gut sick feeling going to last 4 whole years? Need to expedite this if we can. Keep your fingers crossed on him improving infrastructure. I doubt he ever does it. Improving infrastructure isn't even something that can really be measured. They will spend money on it, they will fix some stuff, they won't fix everything. Just like Obama did with the Recovery and Reinvestment Act. They fixed some stuff but it's a never ending problem. The bridges that were fine 8 years ago, are now 8 years older.. and while we fix some, others are aging... it's not like we ever get to the point where we can stop fixing stuff for a few years. I saw a report a year or so ago that Obama said we needed to invest a trillion dollars in infrastructure repair, this came out a week after the American Society of Civil Engineers said we needed to invest 3 trillion. The other thing is that sewer systems, water treatment plants, etc... those belong to cities and counties, not to the federal government.. so if the little bridge over the stream between your house and your kids school is in crappy shape, call the town, don't call the feds, it's not their bridge to fix. The other thing is that when the economy is good, we are expanding, building new roads and widening existing roads to accommodate that growth, that's where the available resources are spent. When the economy is slow and we are not growing, roads don't get fixed because.. get this, they don't have any money. I assure you, write it down, 4 years from now, no matter what happens.. whoever runs against Trump (assuming he runs again) will say that education and infrastructure both still suck.. it's one of those things you say that is impossible for anybody to prove you wrong.

Swish, I was driving back from Wilmington, NC so I haven't seen the speech yet but they were playing clips of it after it was over.. one of the clips they played had Trump saying something like, "we are going to rebuild our infrastructure and put people back to work doing it"... My first thought was, OMG, it's FDR's New Deal all over again.

Another one will involve ISIS. We are close to killing off their leader and they won't own areas in Syria. However, there will still be terrorist cells. That's why I think it's stupid saying "I will defeat ISIS." Really? All you can do is delegitimize them.
Another calling card will be inner city violence. He may decrease crime in Chicago, but mark my words: New Orleans and St. Louis will pick up the slack.

quote above by candy (in reference to ISIS):
"All you can do is delegitimize them."
This is the key.
How?
For one, stop putting them on TV.
Of course not so easy when some ISIS suicide bomber kills 20 people at a restaurant. Or at a school bus stop.

The problem that we created resides in the fact that we have come to accept a false premise. Left/right, Democrat/Republican, one or the other, and nothing in between. One side hates the other and they both lie to make their false narratives seem plausible. The more that we consume the rhetoric the further apart we grow. Politics has become a fight over ideology, instead of performing a function. I reject the concept that government is the answer to all of our problems, or that it should be so small that it can be drowned in a bathtub.
The more absurd the language, the more I will look for those who simply want to do what is appropriate for America, rather than reforming our country according to their political vision.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

Trump's first executive action: Cancel Obama's mortgage premium cuts http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/polit...-cuts/96853446/WASHINGTON — The very first executive action by the new Trump administration wasn't a sweeping order on immigration, trade or health care — but rather to block an Obama administration that would have reduced the cost of mortgages for millions of home buyers. In the first hour of Trump's presidency, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development sent a letter to lenders, real estate brokers and closing agents suspending the 0.25 percentage point premium rate cut for Federal Housing Administration-backed loans. That cut would have saved home buyers about $29 a month on a $200,000 mortgage. More:What the mortgage action means for you But Republicans cast the move as hasty and said it threatened to undermine the stability of the system. So shortly after Trump was sworn in at noon Friday, General Deputy Assistant Secretary for Housing Genger Charles — an Obama administration holdover — announced that HUD would "suspend indefinitely" the rate reduction, saying "more analysis and research are deemed necessary." The premiums fund the Mutual Mortgage Insurance Fund, which would bail out lenders if borrowers default on their mortgages. It was Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., who pressed the issue at confirmation hearings for Ben Carson, Trump's nominee for HUD secretary. Toomey said the planned rate reduction was "surprising," since the balance in the fund that backs FHA mortgages is just 16% higher than the legal minimum. "This strikes me as very little buffer above the minimum. And after all, as recently as 2013, the FHA needed a bailout," he said. "I, too, was surprised to see something of this nature done on the way out the door, which of course has a profound effect," Carson said. So certainly, if confirmed, I'm going to work with the FHA administrator and other financial experts to really examine that policy." Read more: Carson: Can't promise HUD programs won't benefit Trump Trump begins with action on Obamacare, regulation freeze and confirmations Analysis: Trump’s short, dark and defiant inaugural address In his campaign, Trump promised Day One executive actions repealing Obama policies on immigration and health care, so the change in mortgage premiums took Democrats and consumer groups by surprise. "I think we were surprised by how quickly this was something that they wanted to look at," said Sarah Wolff of the Center for Responsible Lending. "I think it unfortunately signals that they don’t place as great an emphasis as we would hope on access and affordability of mortgage credit." FHA insures about 16% of new mortgages in the United States. The timing of the Trump administration action was dictated more by the procedural requirements that govern such changes, said David Stevens, a former Federal Housing Commissioner in the Obama administration. "I they stop a fee that hasn't been implemented, then it’s no-harm, no-foul," said Stevens, who now heads the Mortgage Banker's [censored] lot of mortgage closings." Without any action, the new rates would have gone into effect Jan. 27. "The Trump team coming into office, they haven't had their own chance to look at the state of the reserves, the strength of the fund and make their own analysis," he said. "My view of this is that it is not ideological whatsoever. It is a technical decision." Carson has not been confirmed as HUD secretary. Until he's confirmed, the department is being run by Acting Secretary Craig Clemmensen, an Obama holdover. Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., said Friday that Trump’s words in his inaugural speech “ring hollow” following the mortgage premium action. "In one of his first acts as president, President Trump made it harder for Americans to afford a mortgage," he said. "What a terrible thing to do to homeowners. ... Actions speak louder than words." _______ Can a conservative explain why? This makes no sense.

What that article does not tell you is that Obama just put that mortgage rate cut into effect last minute. If left in action it can put a heavy burden on tax payers. Only reason Obama put this in last minute was so when Trump reversed it articles like this could be written by the paid off media.

My answer was gonna be somebody is paying for that extra %, most likely tax payers. Leave it to the media to write this up like it's a bad thing.

Yea....I highly doubt that. Why Obummer spent the last 2 weeks putting down roadblocks for Trump to over come once he took office. All these last min. bills and mandates? come on, even the blind could see what he was doing to Trump.

So this was done to stick it to Trump?
Yea....I highly doubt that. Yes. During the confirmation hearing of Ben Carson for HUD Secretary. Ben said he was deeply disappointing in Obama for signing this executive order last minute without consulting the new President elect. The burden it can put on tax payers to bail out loans defaulted on is too much risk.

Obama did this to stick it to Trump. Ok.

Right, because Obama would never play politics...
It's supposed to be hard! If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard... is what makes it great!

J/C ....
How does it make sense to shove through a FHA rate cut when the FED just increased rates in December?
It is counter-intuitive. It makes no sense. It also doesn't make such a huge difference in the individual borrower's payment. Using their example of a $29 difference on $200 loan ..... is it really going to be the difference between taking out a loan or not if your mortgage payment is $920 or $950 plus taxes and insurance?

It could. People's situations are different. It's why it's on a FHA.

WASHINGTON — President Trump plans to take executive action on a nearly daily basis for a month to unravel his predecessor’s legacy and begin enacting his own agenda, his aides say, part of an extended exercise of presidential power to quickly make good on his campaign promises.
But in a reflection of the improvisational style that helped fuel his rise, he has made few, if any, firm decisions about which orders he wants to make, or in which order. That is a striking break from past presidents, who have entered office with detailed plans for rolling out a series of executive actions that set a tone for their presidencies and send a clear message about their agendas.
It was clear that Mr. Trump had devised no such strategy by his first day in office, as advisers expressed doubt until the last moments about whether he would issue any directives on Friday. “It’s going to be a game-day decision,” Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, told reporters that afternoon. More at the link This is what many of you hated about Obama, right? A bunch of executive actions which caused government tyranny? What happened to the party of self-proclaimed "limited government"? Please show me the outrage you showed against Obama.

If a person is taking out a $900 mortgage, and $30 is going to break them, then they cannot afford the mortgage in the 1st place.
My taxes and insurance have fluctuated over the years, and my mortgage payment has fluctuated between $475 and $420. I bought a nice home, that is still in the city limits of YTown, (barely) that was less expensive that homes in some of the surrounding communities. I could have moved 2 or 3 blocks in any of a couple directions and bought a similar house for another $20-30K more, and with higher taxes. I just refi'd and got my payment under $400, taxes and insurance in. However, I know that my payment will increase or decrease depending upon my taxes and insurance. I also had my financial situation turn upside down, due to medical issues. However, because I bought a home I can afford, it has never become a problem. Neither has the swing in my monthly payment based on fluctuations in insurance and taxes.
If $30 on a $200,000 loan is going to make that kind of difference for a borrower, then they should be looking at a less expensive house.

Let em, bro.
When it falls in their face, I don't want to hear anything from them.
This is what they voted for, Rocket. If they could, they would make it so that obama only existed in theory, not in policy.
Conservatives has made it clear that they want 2007-2009 back. They want that economy from that time back.
Let them have it. Ain't no point in fighting it. Just enjoy the show.

It's what he said he would do, and it shows the danger of taking executive action as Obama did.
Obama took the easy way and wrote executive orders to do things, instead of trying to work with the Congress. Now Trump is going to undo them by the same process. Action taken without going through the legislative process is always easy to undo.
