Sounds like a night I spent in the hood in Flint Michigan once... spent the whole night listening to cop helicopters, sirens, and gunshots. Couldn't believe people thought it was normal.
Chiraq!! A scared homey, that's that s--- I don't like!!!
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
I dunno, I lived for two years right near Soldier Field on Roosevelt and Michigan. Wondeful place to live. Never was I scared, except when I tried to go to a Red Wings Boots Store (and ended up in the wrong neighborhood with the same street name of the place I was trying to go, that was pretty scary, and it was the daytime. I just felt very out of place and like everyone was looking at me, although it's kind of surprising, cause when I go out during the day, I could easily pass for a homeless man. Kinda that Jack Reacher in me, lol).
So yeah, I recommend Chicago to anyone. Just gotta know where to go. My life was a heckuva lot less expensive than it is here in Southwestern Connecticut, that's for sure (although my wife just got herself a huge pay-raise promotion, so things are on the up and up!).
