Thomas, Quinn make their pitches Zac Jackson, Staff Writer 06.19.2007 The Joe Thomas-Brady Quinn "Welcome to Cleveland Tour" made another stop Monday night, and this one was especially memorable. Thomas and Quinn each threw out a ceremonial first pitch at Jacobs Field before the Indians-Phillies game. They might be invited back, too -- the Indians won the game, 10-1. Quinn, an accomplished baseball player as a youngster and in high school at Dublin Coffman near Columbus, felt at home on the mound. Thomas was never a baseball player, but he does know a thing or two about throwing. He holds the University of Wisconsin's indoor shot put record and is in the top-five in school history in the outdoor throw. Both Thomas and Quinn made appearances in the Indians' television and radio booths during the middle innings. During the Cavs' May 6 playoff game against the Nets, Quinn and Thomas were honored at halftime --- drawing arguably the loudest ovation of the night -- and received honorary Cavs jerseys with their names and numbers. Wednesday, they'll join the other members of the Browns' rookie class for a daylong visit to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/article.php?id=6883They are getting so much hype right now

While normally I would think having 2 first rounders of this notoriety a bad thing for them as sometimes it sucks when your the first rounder, and suddenly, your not the only first rounder and have to split the attention.
But in this case, because these 2 both perform at positions that rely directly on each other for their performances on field to be judged a success, this time together might build a friendship.
Maybe even better so because Joe seems a little more "stay out of the spotlight" type, so having Quinn there to do all the talking, helps Joe just sit back in his role and enjoy the fanfare, without having to be out front all the time.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

37 days, 19 hours, 7 minutes until training camp starts (assuming it starts at 9:00 a.m.)
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

I've always found it odd in sports we honer and pay those who have done nothing, yet we forget those who played hard, were dedicated and those truly worthy of some type of honor, we push aside and forget. Kinda backwards if ya ask me.

I understand what you are saying, but those two are not just players who haven't done anything, they are more of a symbol of hope for this city... Sound's kind of cheesy but its true. Joe Thomas and Brady Quinn will either make or break this franchise, there is a ton of hype around them and the hope that they will succeed, if they do not then we are in bigggg trouble.

Your right and I understand why they do this and they are hope for Cleveland fans, the city and the Team itself, I hope we get to honor both someday in Canton, i'd like to see more of having Clay back for the coin toss, Minnifield, Dixon, Bam, Bam, Bernie, Dieken, ( wait he's still hang'en around), shafraft, Babb's, Everitt, Brennen,

Bam Bam is around a lot too. His daughter was an intern with the Browns last year.
IF Thomas and Quinn are the real deal this year's draft will be monumental and it's already looking like Wright is the real deal.

Oh I don't know about that. How would two more busts be monumental? Busts are nothing new, guys who actually pan out and do what they're supposed to do now THAT would be different.
