To piggyback from Candyman's post:

Quote:

Lebrons greatness is the worst thing to ever happen to franchises in big markets. Who was the last "best player in the NBA" to not play in a major market?

You might actually have to go back to Kareem in Milwaukee.

The league is so popular now, that I don't think these guys need big markets. Their shoe deals, and tv ads are done nationally. It's not about doing local commercials in NYC or Chicago. That stuff is nice, but the league is so good at marketing their stars that you don't need it. Putting together a winning team is a different story, and obviously our situation is unique, but I hope it trends toward all teams having a good chance.

People are still peddling this whole NY Knicks clearing cap space for stars garbage. It's hilarious. Nobody wants to play for the Knicks. You're going to get Joakim Noah. Congrats.

I think that he stays in OKC .... at least or one year.

Maybe he signs a 1 and 1 with a player option, like Lebron does.

I think he stays 1 year too. They have a great shot at getting right back to where they were last year.

Maybe a year from now with all this change in the CBA that Durant then looks to go elsewhere. I really don't get the draw to leave with him. I get that he should absolutely explore his options, and experience free agency, but they have everything they need in OKC. A running mate guaranteed for another year, a good coach, a good set of role players. The self inflicted wounds did more damage than the Warriors ever did to them. They're a really good team. No guarantee you leave and get that elsewhere. He ain't Lebron.

Yeah but if he goes to GS they'll go 82-0.

Just clicking...

Don't want wade... Over the hill.

Durant to the Warriors would make them worse.

Durant to stay in OKC

Horford to sign in OKC

Watched it too ... wish they would have had a little more about the Finals/Reactions/Parade (maybe keep the original 90 minutes ... and extended it to 2 full hours with the final 30 minutes on just the 16 Finals)

They've set themselves up with terrible expectations.

Can't wait for ESPN to freak out when they're like 25-10 next season..

The Ibaka trade would make a lot more sense if Horford ends up in OKC. Donovan has the Florida connection there.

Am I the only one that doesn't like John Michael?

Following Joe Tait sucks, I get that.

But like.. I just don't like his voice. It sounds fake. The Cavs Finals winning call should be jubilation.. and it just comes off as him reading off something that was wrote for him..

That's my thought too. Horford to OKC

I'll never forget the final 5:30 of the game.

Swear it got worse and worse until the final buzzer. I won't deny it, the Cleveland fan in me kept thinking "whelp this is where Golden State pulls it away or wins a last second miracle." That Ezili foul really changed things. When your opponent starts heating up, go to the free throw line and slow the game down.

I couldn't watch it.

I was reading my Bible. Seriously. I would glance over at the TV, catch a score, then read some more. I admit to praying that God would allow Cleveland to have a Championship, given how much it would mean to so many people who have been loyal to their teams for so long ..... but who knows if God is all that concerned about a team winning a championship or not. I do believe that He has a plan for all things ..... so maybe He did want Cleveland to win. laugh

Of course, considering that I saw that Howard wants a long term deal starting at a minimum of $24 million/year ...... crazy

Moz isn't worth 1/4 of that money IMO. I definitely think the championship gave him a few more bucks

The more I watch the ending of the game the more I'm convinced this was the key play of the game. Not the block, the three, or the D. Those things don't have a chance of a happening without this play.

The salary cap increase AND the new salary floor is going to make a lot of contracts looks crazy, very crazy. I heard this morning, 26 of the NBA teams were below the new floor last year, so they HAVE to spend the money on new players. If they don't, the difference is spread across all of their current players.

And good for Mozgov. Insane money, but good for him.

I bet a lot of NFL players will be jealous.
