Hi folks,

I am sitting inside the lions den up in michigan waiting for tonights game to start a. I have been a frontliner up in MI for the last 6 years of my life. I am surrounded by the fans of U of M, Pistons & Tigers. While I sometime like flame folks here on this board out of boredom, I have always just kept my mouth shut and talked ZERO trash when an Ohio team has faced off against a Michigan team when going it comes time for the two states to square off.

Last year I was happy that the cavaliers were able to take Detroit to 7 games in the conference semi-finals. Even thought we lost, I felt that despite what the pundits said, we had paired up with our rival in the NBA. One that would define the sucess of the cavaliers and LBJ. And here we are again.

I have lived through a lot of things in Cleveland sports. I dont need to list these as we all have suffered many heartbreaks and disappointments. While sometimes people like to paint our city as a loser, what we have been through has shown us to be just the opposite. as we peservere like no other city in the country Other cities that have went thorugh as much as we have would be hesitant to be enthusiastic in their support for their team. The "once bitten twice shy" attitude would surely have claimed cities with lesser fortitude than ours.

In Cleveland we are, for better or worse unable to seperate ourselves from our sports teams and thier sucess and failures. While this exposes us to the ultimate letdown, it also brings us closer together with each opportunity we get at the big one.

I dont care what happens tonight in this game because All year all i wanted was for this team to take another step. I feel they have done that, and no matter what there will be no more mistaking what kind of TEAM the cavaliers are. That being said, i feel a deep upswell of emotion regarding this team and our town. This series has shown that we arent going to fade into obscurity. The indians appear to be feeding off the fans much like the mid and late 90's. The browns have put themselves in a position ot compete legitimately for the first time since 99. And the Cavaliers are on the brink of going to the finals.

With this moment in time upon us, I wanted everybody to think about what reallly makes Cleveland a great sports city. That inability to seperate oursleves from what happens on the field of play. And as our city gets ready to host arguably biggest game since the Championship game against Denver I thought everybody should rememember what a difference we make as a fanbase with our support and our energy.

Whether or not you are going to the game or not tonight, when our boys hit the floor, make sure everybody knows how much you are behind them (neighbor, guy sitting next to you at the bar whatever).

No matter what happens tonight.

Leave already Brownskies - there's gotta be a party downtown. They should shut the whole sector down and allow open container.

hehe, I was listening to Sirius yesterday and that Eminem song came on and I started thinking of the CAVS. I have a MP3 of that song from the 2002 OSU season.

My wife takes the DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) in to work and sometimes wears a Cavs hat i gave her, and some people give her a thumbs up, or they'll say Go Cavs.

I wish that I could be back home with everybody, but I would be in some credit card debt becasue I would have to get a ticket to the game tonight.

I swear to God,,ESPN is seriously trying to jinx us. I am watching Sportscenter right now and they just showed Game 6 from last year and how we blew it Everytime they mention the game they talk about "How they have been there before and lost at home". Thats all I have been hearing from the national media on how Detroit can win b/c they did it before"

Good lord

I hate to agree with them, but they do have a point. How many times have Cleveland teams been there and blew it?

I say we silence them all with a win tonight!

PS Can this day go any slower?
