Have we ever had so many concussions? Not that I can ever remember. I think it's the new NFL protocol. Guys used to play after having their bells rung a bit. Now... not so much.

One kick away: How Austin Davis could go from quarterback to kicker coach Mike Pettine was asked about options should kicker Travis Coons be unable to go on Sunday with a groin injury. "We also have Austin Davis, who is an outstanding kicker," Pettine said on Friday following practice. "I am serious -- outstanding." Pettine said the Browns have a backup plan if Coons can't kick on Sunday. That backup plan isn't Davis, but he's available in a pinch. "He knocks through 45-yarders like they are nothing," Pettine said. "He is an outstanding kicker. Ben has punted before, but I don't remember another guy. Mark Malone played WR and returned kicks, I think. Kordell was "Slash," but I don't think he punted. Maybe Terry Hanratty? But, I don't think so.
Ahhhh.........I think I know. Danny White was a back-up qb for the Cowboys who was also the punter. He also started at qb for both the Dallas and Denver. Not sure if he was a punter while being a starting qb..........
