Don't worry....they'll do the right thing. Sowers gets one more start this weekend to prove his worth.

Well, we still need Carmona until Westy gets back. When is that anyway?

This needed it's own thread? And Sowers is a good pitcher. Everyone goes through slumps. He'll come out of it. It's only May.

Well, this thread could last through the weekend while we're playing the Reds I suppose. The Twins/Indians thread will be dead by nightfall. I wanted to post some quotes from today's game - so I put them in both (in case one gets blown away). Link "I couldn't believe it when they sent him down," Hunter said. "Everyone in the league was saying, "Did you see Carmona got sent down?" "That dude is filthy," Hunter said. "We've been struggling, but even if we had been playing good, we wouldn't have beaten him. If you've never played the game, listen to me, I'm a hitter. Right-handers have no chance unless they get lucky and get a hit on a broken bat." "It's not normal," Torii Hunter said of Carmona's go-to pitch. "He's not even human. It was so scary, I thought I was hung over." Carmona ain't going anywhere.

Before he got hurt Jake Westbrook was pitching terrible... We might as well send him to Buffalo too. Sowers probably figures to be the odd man out if Fausto keeps playing like this but let's not trash the guy. He was one of the best pitchers in baseball the second half of last season. He's in line to be a fixture in this rotation for years to come.

If that's what it takes to keep the pitching staff healthy and intact, go for it. Sowers is now where FC was last year,..remember that.
Everything has a cycle,....

Carmona was really good when he was with the Captains.I got to see him pitch a lot when he was there. He's turned into a really good starter, for sure.No way he goes down to Buffalo.

I Thought Sowers was great last year, but he struggled early on if you remember. He pitched well his first few starts this year. I think he will get out of his slump soon and return to his form from last year. I think its great that the Tribe finally has some depth at starting pitching.

there is absolutely no way carmona goes back down, how can you send this guy down with what he's done?
he reminds me of coco crisp, how they kept bringing him up and sending him down, and eventually they had to play him all the time because they realized he was a good player...
sowers should be sent down... he's going through the classic sophmore slump that a lot of pitchers go through, most of the teams in the league have a book on him, so he needs to learn how to adjust...
what about sticking him in the pen? we could use another lefty...

Nah, until Westbrook comes back, Carmona is safe, but really we can't afford to take him out of the rotation right now

I was thinking this same thing while driving home tonight. This kid has done nothing but kick ass, you can't send him down.
Think of this too. When can you remember having so much pitching where a problem like this comes up? Too cool!

Its nice to finally be arguing about who the Indians should send back to the minors.
We finally have some depth. Sowers will be fine, he'll break out of his slump. The kid can really pitch. But Carmona has to stay up, so I don't know who should go down to the minors.

Actually it did, it showed us he wasn't our closer.
That HAS worked out well.

Sowers is gonna be a stud sooner rather than later in this league. But I think it's a consensus among Tribe fanst that once Jake Westbrook gets back we need to put Sowers in Buffalo for the season. Having 6 quality starters is a good problem to have.
