Yeah, he's a nice player and has the leg up over a lot of rookies in that he has collegiate experience in a 3-4. Thanks for the details, SPF.

Dupree has done nothing but suck so far for Pitt. Only reason we've blown more first rounders than them over the past five years is we've had more opportunities. And the reason it doesn't affect them is Roth. And it has affected them. Just look at that vaunted pittsburgh defense. It has really gone down hill the past couple years. Ben is the guy keeping that team afloat. Replace him with Christian Ponder and that is a 4 win team IMO.
Am I perfect? No Am I trying to be a better person? Also no

Their drafts have been as bad as ours lately. Jarvis Jones, Shazier and Dupree will suck for years. I almost feel for Timmons. You can run and pass all over the Steelers these days.

Steelers won the division and were in the playoffs last year.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

BABIP fluke, really. They allowed the most points in the division, clearly lost the WC game and were 8-8 the two seasons before that. Even with last season the larger sample of the past 3 years they're a 9-7 team. Middling and on their way down with Roth's decline soon to come. Remember the Browns 2007? They had that kind of season last year

I have no idea why Cooper was inactive It was either A. They didn't think he was one of our top D-linemen or B. Our coaching staff had already made the decision that we were not going to be able to sack Mr ZZ Top Fitzpatriick because they thought he gets rid of the ball to quickly My educated guess was that we wanted a game plan of stopping the Run. Cooper has a lot of Raw talent but is not proficient in the D enough to be disciplined in the Run D. This is what happens when practices are predicated on discipline only and not enough GAME DAY TALENT shines and the other end Practice players who understand but don't have the Athleticism for Game day execution!
But as a coach I think the thought process was - We got to Stop the run and for the most part they did while the game was a game. Our MISTAKE was not the Run D it was not taking Fitz serious enough. It was ok come on Fitz Beat us if you can...and this game...HE COULD. I hope Meder is inactive and Coop in there for this game. Meder is one of those guys who looks good in practice and is athletic enough to execute against 2's n 3's...I'll give him another shot to turn me around. But I'm telling you this lack of contact stuff in camp kills NEW cause we don't know really know until the games. It will be this film that will enable to get everything there. I betcha our Defense starts becoming AWESOME games 3 & 4 lets hope sooner.

Baseball term. A high small sample size BABIP is an indicator for luck. In other words: "nothing that is sustainable over a longer period"

I wish the Browns could catch some of this BAPIP that you speak of.

Just remember a Single in baseball even with 300 hitters is like what 20%...In football that stat is more 70% and you got something called YAC that could turn that into a double triple and HR...I'm not hip on the new STATS I guess of baseball. Just I know both games pretty well
So because of my ignorance I didn't really get the point you were trying to make...not your fault. Just letting you know I am not that good on Statonese.

It is not fair to judge Shelton or Erving. Johnny seems to have straightened out off the field stuff and showed that he is improving. Gilbert seems like a loss. My problem is no WR's worth a crap. What's the point in signing a 35 y/o journeyman QB?? He is not going to be any better than Delhomme, Hoyer or any of the multiple team QB's that have been here. The WR he does draft gets cut. I just don't get the WR thing.
We are terrible

an indicator for luck. In other words: "nothing that is sustainable over a longer period" Sustainable good luck or sustainable bad luck? 12 seasons of double digit loses since '99 13 seasons of losing records since '99 12 Seasons of finishing dead last in division since '99 1 Playoff appearance since '99 ( an unlucky Loss )

Predictably bad by design. Here's one more.
11 Top 10 picks since 1999. 0 QBs taken with them.
We're... we're good?

Who has been WORSE over the same period since the Browns returned using the above criteria?
After 55 years, I'm walking away from this dumpster fire. Good luck to everyone who continues to hang on. You'll need it.
