Not embarrassed to say my eyes are a bit damp as I type this. This is hard. Not hard because I personally knew Jimmy. Not hard because anyone was clinging to a miracle, by most accounts we should be glad he's at peace and out of pain.
This is hard because his passion was unparalleled. I gave up a long time ago thinking we, as fans, deserved anything. I quit thinking the Browns owed me anything, no matter how much money I spent or how many hours I wasted.
Jimmy Donovan deserved better. He deserved to see this team rise to the pinnacle of success. I don't think of the team doing a disservice to me, I think of it doing a disservice to people like Jimmy. I hate that I sound so bitter, but these are my feelings every time we lose another great that can't be here to celebrate, when and if that day ever comes.
R.I.P. Jimmy. You are loved to no end and will be missed dearly.
