And we didn't have to give up draft capitol either. We need all the picks we have and then some.
Yes, I feel much better about not drafting a mediocre QB at #2. We can do better (Maybe Hunter?) and draft/trade for a QB next year. This was a smart move. Fans are happy and they can draft BPA.
I'm mostly playing devil's advocate here... but does Flacco being re-signed REALLY mean we're not going QB at 2?
-We got Pickett for a 5th
-We got Flacco on day 29 of 2025 FA
That doesn't exactly scream "we're set at QB".
I agree, but I would bet we don't go QB at #2. Sometimes you have to go with what you have to go with. Even Cam Ward isn't the 2nd best prospect in the draft.
I understand QB's tend to go early if you need a QB, but IMO the gap is too far from selecting Carter or Hunter.
I think we will probably select a QB with our 2nd pick, even it is a trade up in to the 1st round. At that point the player value and the pick value even out enough to warrant a reach of sorts.
