Coaching. I think she was solidly mediocre, for exactly the reasons you stated. We're talking about VPs here. Clearly, the American people sent a message that 'solidly mediocre' and 'more of the same' weren't going to cut it.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

She is a one term VP, but I’d lay odds that by the time Trump’s second term is over, she and Biden will be more appreciated I doubt it. They'll probably be even more despised for letting/making it happen. Or perhaps the public will pity Joe because the party should never have picked him the first time, let alone trying to promote him for the second term run. Kind of hard to blame him when his brain is pudding. Kamala should probably get comfortable with the idea of her true calling-- excitedly selling bogus junk on late night infomercials. If you couldn't beat Trump, you've no business in politics.
