One thing I do plan on doing once he starts his administration is starting a thread laying out the platforms he ran on. Then as time goes on, we can fill it out to see what has actually transpired. I think that's actually a good discussion to have for any administration. No matter who it is in office, I sincerely hope they do a great job. In this current political climate, I think a lot of us have conditioned ourselves to hope the person gets into office that will do the least bad job.
It's up to us to hold them accountable, to stop our own childish infighting, and shed our harmful, unwavering preconceived notions that one party = good no matter what.
On the specific issues, for anyone who took him seriously on ending the War in Ukraine, I'll just say that I view that with the same skepticism as him saying he'd build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it. Does anyone here feel differently, and why?

In most every case politicians campaign to ignite their base. They say what they think voters want to hear. That's not exclusive to either party. Some things they say has no ring of reality to it while still others sound more doable. You pointed out the "Mexico will pay for it" talking point he used when running in 2016. Anyone who is sane could see that was simply crazy and would never happen. Yet he kept repeating it throughout his entire 2016 run for The White House. It begs to question whether he believes his own delusions of grandeur or was he lying? Neither answer is good but it leaves an open question IMO
He also promised he would bring lasting peace to the middle east. Something that has once again been attempted for how long now? So there's that question again. Does he actually believe himself?
There is one huge caveat to this time around. During his first term he didn't surround himself with loyalists. There were actually sane people in the building. That along with legislative constraints some of his greatest urges were held in check. That's not so this time. He has made it known he will only have yes men around him and the Republicans will control both the senate, the house along with having a very conservative SCOTUS. And they've already made it clear he can do most anything as long as he can wrap it in some pretty package that makes it sound like it's somehow his presidential duty to do so. Even if it's not.
The scenario and conditions under his second term are quite different. It does set the stage for a very different outcome. Watching it all unfold will be something very interesting to watch.
If there's something on the list of good things about this election for me it's that I'm an old white guy who lives in a very red state. I'm not one of his targets. I'm about as safe as a person can be from the things he claims are his goals. My only concern is what will happen to Social security and medicare. And even that's not really about me. I never depended that the government would be reliable enough to stake my future on. I saw the storm coming even before the storm clouds had formed. It's one of the advantages of studying history and learning from it.

I definitely share in the concerns regarding who he's going to surround himself with, especially given his track record and reputation he garnered from the people he worked with last time, including his Vice President...one of the "crickets" issues we've had on here.
One other thing he ran on - where he brought Elon Musk in - was reducing the spending. I don't know if it's all smoke or what, but if you look at our actual spending metrics, it's laid out like this:
Health Care: 24% Social Security: 21% Defense: 13% Interest on Debt: 10%
Everything else is below 10%. I don't know how they would eliminate the deficit (without increasing revenue) unless they attack health care, SS or defense spending, and knowing Republicans, they won't touch defense spending. My guess, too, is that there will actually be a revenue decrease via tax cuts.
I also do worry about my job and my own benefits, given everything Elon has said. I negotiate against defense contractors, and I have literally saved billions of dollars against proposals received from them throughout the course of my career. If we entered into an environment where positions like mine are eliminated, bad things would happen. I guess I have no choice but to wait and see, though.

And I for on appreciate the job you do. Elon made it clear that "“We have to reduce spending to live within our means,” Musk said. “And, you know, that necessarily involves some temporary hardship, but it will ensure long-term prosperity.”"
And you can bet those "temporary hardships" won't be felt by him, trump or their cronies. The thing is if you take it out of the mouths of those who need it the most how "temporary" can that be?
And I understand your concern. I can't imagine the owner of Space X likes what he charges the government being questioned or challenged. The same holds true for other government contractors who wield so much power.
I will certainly be rooting for you to come out the other side of this okay.

All the memes with Trump needing to get rehired at McDs died on the vine. McDonald's wasn't stupid enough to hire him in the first place. He had to pretend to work there.

And yet you know there was a flood of memes prepared in case he lost. Yes we know it was a campaign stunt, just like the bussed in "joyous" customers at Primanti Brothers.

There were a flood of memes from both sides. I have no idea what point you were trying to make when you yourself admit they all do it? I mean it's okay to come on here and make smart ass comments. I do it too. But maybe you could just realize that often times that's exactly what you'll get in return. I know that "owning the libs" is a favorite pastime of some. While Eve sucks at it you have to give her credit she's not a quitter.

Don't know if Wu-Tang is forever......had to look it up......don't think it will last, JMHO, the music will last for ever......Trump is forever a President twice....and...a disruptive force to be determined IF he is positive or negative......I'll give him this- illegal entries will be lower--GOOD, and if he stops the killing in Ukraine without giving a free country up--that is a huge positive.....so, time will tell. Pray for all serving our country-- give them the inner strength to do right thing always. Peace and happy Thanksgiving to all.

trump’s unpredictability is a positive in foreign relations.

The next election is less than 4 years away. Only positive I could find without betraying everything I’ve ever believed in and taking a dump on democracy.

OH, FOUND ONE MORE POSITIVE!
There is a chance that Trump will actually get caught, convicted, and jailed for the crimes he commits this time. I doubt MAGA will love him after he crashes the economy.
