It seems to me like MNF always has the boring matchups of any "window" .. certainly not like it used to be
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Sources: The #Patriots are disciplining WR Josh Gordon during tonight’s game vs. the #Bills because of tardiness. He’s expected to be kept off the field for several series — about a quarter — as they continue to work with & manage him. It’ll be regular playing time after that. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1057006009129013248 And there he was...STARTING! This guy leads some golden life cause of his talent.

Who is daboll OC for? ... Daboll was Mangini's guy If I remember correctly. Daboll is the OC for the Bills. I actually thought he was good for us as a coach. He got a lot of WINS...ahem from a 3rd round rookie McCoy and a Steroid induced runner. But it was he who made the play with both OT's split out wide against the Bengals and then we threw a TD pass to Royal a guy who couldn't catch a cold. With this formation. Against the Bengals who liked what they saw and continued to use it with Hue there and then back here but we just showed it and never ran anything from it.
Also it was Daboll who impressed my by placing Northcutt as a RB in a goal to go situation and executed a nice TD run from it. We had no Talent and lets not forget our 4 wins at the end of the season under Daboll! Run, run, run.
I Liked him a lot.
Mangini, the best chance we had at Brilliance from our HC. Then the Holmgren era threw that baby away, never to see Mangini back as HC.
So question is who is our OC and play caller!

Yes, I thought Diam was asking "who was daboll oc for" while he was in Cleveland.
there have been three coaches I thought we should have kept longer than we did. Mangini, Chud, and dare I say Romeo.
Kitchens is going to call the plays from all reports.

So question is who is our OC and play caller! RB coach Freddie Kitchen, who I think is a heck of a coach. He helped rebuild Carson Palmer in Arizona. He is also the guy who called plays in the 4th preseason game this year. I am really looking forward to seeing how he designs a gameplan, because I think he's a really bright guy.

I know people will just brush it off because it was a preseason game, but he designed and called a great game. The game started and a sideline reporter told of how Haley likes to give another offensive coach a chance to call a game in game four. I thought, "well that's weird". By halftime I was thinking "man, Haley, you may have just found your replacement". Looks like he did lol. Some people just have the knack for keeping a defense "guessing". In a very small sample size, in a game that meant nothing, I saw that in Kitchens. Great balance between run and pass. Heavy dose of quick screens and plays that made things easy for Baker to do what he does best. Excited to see how this plays out, sucks that we have to start against a team that scores so fast they short-circuit the scoreboard.

It's not a smart thing. Common sense would tell you I'm wrong. Every week in this league, common sense goes out the window. I won't waste time trying to exact the perfect recipe for success offensively. Obviously it begins with talent, continues with execution... beyond that there is the flow of play-calling. Every week in this league, very good defenses get beat. A key part of beating a defense is NOT being predictable. Pittsburgh definitely knew what we were doing, play after play, last Sunday. Heck, I knew it too...
Run, run, third down - guess what we're doing? Run, run, third down - guess what we're doing?
My wife was getting annoyed because I kept saying it out loud. I started predicting every play - and was right most of the time.
I remember, after getting a run stuffed on 1st down in the redzone, I yelled at the TV. "Maybe try passing on second down for a change!" What do we do?? Come out with an empty backfield. Can't make this stuff up - the first time we deviate, in any way, from the tired script, we TELL THEM exactly what we're doing.
When you see an OC in a groove, you know it... I call it "paper-scissors-rock" offense. The defense plays on it's heels. Granted, part of this is the tail wagging the dog, ie... no playcalling is great if the players don't execute, and players executing can make an OC look like a genius, but the fact is, predictability is the #1 enemy of offensive success. At least on teams that aren't elite.
Haley, last Sunday, was as or more predictable as any game I've seen in a while. No way Kitchens could do worse if he called that game.
